Hey Craig! If you ever want to spent some serious money I suggest you have to buy a Speidel braumeister! Very easy and you need less time to brew all grain. Once you tried it you won't go back. If you have any questions feel free to email me. You are always welcome to brew with me together on the Braumeister if you ever visit The Netherlands! Keep the good work continue! Cheers

I am very happy that you continue to do these videos...I am a newbie to the home brewing and I learn a lot from you. I am a very fussy drinker and I am looking forward to enjoying brews that I learn from you. as I write this comment I am enjoying a spiced rum that I made and it turned out AWESOME....I made it using molasses and brown sugar and fermenting with a super yeast compound. Then I infused it with vanilla, cinnamon, cardamom and anise seed.

Craig - Don't worry about repeating things you've already posted doing on youtube. I love observing your process/steps so I can make myself a better brewer. It always seems like I know what I am doing, then I have my brew day and it goes by fast and in a committed fashion. When the day is done I reflect on what I missed, did wrong, forgot, etc. and try to better prepare myself for the next batch. P.S. One of those GoPro mounts that attaches to your head and faces you would free your hands for all the fun you have brewing. Just a thought. :-)

I think the love of cooking is common among home brewers. Brewing is a variety of cooking. It was learning to make my own bread that made me think I should check out home brewing. I think the yeast infected my brain. You demonstrated an easy method for hard apple cider using bread yeast. In a few days I will know if I did it right or not. I thought home brewing was too complex for the likes of me. I had thought the same about baking good bread. You do not know me but you have been my good friend lately, showing me lots of new things in a friendly regular guy sort of fashion.

Great update Craig as usual. I too am having trouble finding time to all grain. But slowly working it in. Like mash in the morning and boil at night or vice versa. Also another method I have discovered to bumb up kits is cold steeping. Gash Slugg has a great video on it. I have done it twice now with great results. Specially dark malts. I turned a draught kit into a black ipa really quick n easy. Basically just put your specialty malts in a pot and add 1 litre cold water per 100g of malt and stick it in the fridge overnight. Next day strain with siff 10-15 minutes boil can also add hops for a hop tea and bobs your uncle. Cheers and look forward to you IPA video. Cheers!

Oh yeah cold steeping is great :) , first heard about it years ago with one of the "recipe of the month" from the coopers site, not sure if they do it worldwide, but i know in Australia, if you join the coopers club, you get an email every month & you can buy from the online store, so far the ROTM & P.E.T bottles are delivered free in Australia. 17

Craig - I have a request for a video.... I need a video about cleaning. It seems like PBW states using a lot more product than what I see others actually doing on youtube. I also would love your opinion about sanitizers. I switched from Starsan after my hands peeled from exposure. I use an iodine sanitizer now, but I miss having Starsan in a spray bottle for spritzing stuff during my brew day as a paranoid precaution. The thing I like about iodine is that it doesn't require hot water and my skin isn't at risk due to exposure.

Hey craig, your LED lights may have been drawing too much power which took out a couple of leds and also the adapter. you might want to get a multimeter out and check the current draw. Having the spec for the leds being used will be usefull so you know what they are rated for. it may be better to give each LED its own resistor so you can limit the current draw for each one. You might also need a bit more powerfull power supply.

I disagree all grain videos are pretty simple to make. People just want to see you brew, It's very easy to have different camera angles while filming. Using a bbq,buckets,blocks, etc. I will say Craig, the quality of the picture in your videos and sound is always amazing. Step it down on some brew days, make it fun! Get out in the snow in brew! Sure its cold, but your making beer! If you don't have cover, if you have the funds I find a canopy pop up tent works well, with cover if windy. I do understand we have busy lives hehe. After seeing what you do, thats awesome that you want to make that high quality of a video, but again...people just wanna see you, If anyone i meet wants to start brewing, I recommend your 1st couple of extract videos. Hope your doing well Craig, Keep it up man. I look forward to your videos, and respect that you want good sound and picture quality, someone who's been in your line of work, I'm sure would disagree with me about weird angles and such. For me its about sharing good brewing experiences and good know how, and of course the love of beer!

***** Same thing happened to me with a beer kit i picked up half price because it was going out of date soon. yeast did nothing not even developed the usual head. the simple answer is simply dont spend that much time on a video...the majority of the viewers dont give a shit about the editing, etc. dont rehearse or anything like that
@CraigTube9 жыл бұрын
njstout Are you speaking for the majority of the viewers? In my experience, the quality and care that is put into a video earns respect from viewers. With that said, there are plenty of cooking video channels on YT where the guy just points the camera at the pan and throws stuff in, and tastes it at the end. eeeck. Yet he gets millions of views. Hell, if it's that easy, I'm IN.
