Usefull tip: if you are catching up with your target you need to burn around the prograde marker. Its the exact opposite of the retrograde one, instead of pushing it away you will pull it too you. @ToreDL87 Жыл бұрын
Didn't know about that fine tuning, much obliged for that! I couldn't master your method after intersect though, way too much back and forth, so I asked a friend and he told me to just keep the stranded ship selected as target, bring up relative velocity just over the navball, and simply retro for vel = 0m/s at closest intersect. That way you get the same velocity, PE, and AP, orbit, etc, immediate results. No back and forth burning all over the place like you are doing here.
@benjaminhartmann45222 жыл бұрын
Wow I did it! thanks so much, great video! Had to watch it 3 times to understand everything, had the problem that my orbit was not on point so every time I reduced the speed relativ to target my distance to it got higher. In the end I figured it out, with your help =)
@inversevoltage3 жыл бұрын
I just did three separate rendezvous' today and I got all of my target approaches down to .2 km using the radial and normal nodes in addition to the prograde, retrograde, and time nodes. It really helps to fine tune the distance. After that, you can use monopropellant. I didn't even have to use any extra monopropellant tanks, just 3 or 4 of the 10 units that were in the capsule.

@@MikeAben Still a good thing to teach to other people! I might even begin using this, I know pretty well how burning will affect where the prograde and retrograde markers will go, but it takes me a split second of thinking, whereas this herding analogy might stick in my brain for use much more faster in situations.

@@MikeAben But I feel as if all this rendezvous stuff will be pretty important when I start trying to land at specific locations (at least on bodies without atmospheres, I've been trying to land back at the KSC and no such luck, closest I got was the same continent.
