Lemme tell ya this, if its a super hot day at universal, this ride is a MUST. If you aren't already soaked by the first 2 drops, the last drop will surely drench you. The drop is much more steeper in real life then on camera. But its a pretty great ride overall, the theme is awesome, and I like that this ride is longer then most water rides. Definitely one of the top favorites at Islands Of Adventure, along with The Hulk and The Jurassic Park ride.

I went on this not to long ago and like I didn't know the ride had THREE DROPS. So the first and second drop caught me by surprise those two ALREADY HAD YA SOAKED. Fun fact... When I went on it a couple of years ago and the last drop happened... I touched my head and found something on it... Somehow, while we were falling, or maybe with all the water coming towards us... A lizard sat on my head! I was so surprised and scared that I accidentally pushed it into the water afterwards :( still sorry about that little lizard 😅

I went in the summer and went it started barely drizzling (bc Florida weather is so unpredictable) everyone started trying to take shelter indoors. My friend and I ran to this ride and right to the front. No wait at all. We were the only ones with the exception of some teenagers who had the same idea!

Loved this ride since I was a kid. Used to go to Florida every year and this ride was my all time fav. I’m now 25 & to see they still have it is amazing and it brings back childhood memories. I’ve experienced long wait times with this ride and also short ones. Also experienced it breaking down one summer visit & they fixed it right while we were in line. Hope they keep this ride.

@@anna.b009 Well what I do (when it's hot out) is when I enter the park, I go in with my bathing suit on and clothes over them. And I hit up all the wet rides first. Then I go change into dry clothes and go on all those rides. It works. And bring flip flops and a plastic bag for your wet clothes. 😁

I don’t really have an opinion on the first part but re: Splash Mountain... I just think they’re very different rides. If you want to get wet/cool off, Rip Off is better, but Splash Mountain is about 5-6 minutes longer (which is good for the wait times on these 2 rides), has more (and cuter) theming and there’s nice music playing the whole time. Plus the scenery at Splash Mountain is just a lot prettier and more done up. But it’s not a thrill ride unless you’re really scared of drops. Rip Off is kinda a thrill ride with that last drop lol

I was on this in 2001 with my little brother and cousin. I was thirteen, my brother eleven, and my cousin was 6 or 7 years old. There was no lap bar at the time and you had to hold on to stay in the ride. Looking back, surprised they let my cousin on that ride. There’s a picture of us on the final drop and you can barely see her between my brother and I. 😂

10 years later my little bro, sister-in-law and I still talk about this attraction. I've never had a water ride get me so wet before. We couldn't stop laughing because it was insult to injury...right before big drop you go under a flood of water and then after you go through a hose basically spraying you. We wet on a hot evening when it was slow and went 4x in a row because it was so much fun.

You call this better than Splash Mountain? There's so much copycat in it, Universal wishes they were Disney. 2:42 Splash Mountain did a drop like this first: Down and back up. 5:10 Oh come on do I even need to say this one? Pirates of the Caribbean rip off. This ride is 4 minutes, Splash is 10-12. Memorable music on both Pirates and Splash, nothing on here. The only thing this ride has over Disney is that it gets you more wet, which I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing. But come on, Splash Mountain is farrr superior to this.

If their idea of a "good water ride" has good animatronics and music and scenes and set design and story, then Splash Mountain is better. As a Bullwinkle fan, there are so many characters and gags they could have pulled from the cartoon that would have made this on par with Splash Mountain, but they didn't.
