(HD) Eurotunnel Le Shuttle trains arriving at Folkestone - 13/7/13

Both car & lorry shuttles feature in this video, it normally takes 2-3 hours for all sets out to pass this locations before you start getting repeats again. Lorry shuttles travel in the nearest line, and car shuttles the outer line. This is the only location in the UK that you can get close to these trains, the shot isn’t too bad.

Certainly the least popular train of Britain due to such limited spots to capture its movements on the edge of the island. Very interesting, rare and kinda risky capture in one of the most controlled areas of UK.

This is probably as close as you can get to a double decker train in the UK. If they were all coach cars there would be Windows at the bottom and more above, just like a bi-level train.

Class 92’s.

The class 92 do the container freight, the class 9000 does the shuttle service and the class 373 and 374 do the passenger services

Great to see but lorries at 30 to 50% load factor suggests they can't be bothered to store half the train for busier seasons. Can't see what the load factor is on the cars but I reckon this must be pretty seasonal so why run such long train sets? But then I left the railways 50 yrs ago because management seemed to be blinkered to anything resembling efficiency. I've flown to Spain a couple of times in the last few years and know how cheap it is to rent a car on arrival (even quicker booked in advance). A car for a fortnight is less than the taxi fare to our accommodation. Planning next year to motor in France but will rent a car from the French port rather than risk a breakdown/accident with little support.
