Thank you really for praising Shinkansen. It is very glad as the Japanese. However, these series500 have not operated it any longer any longer as Nozomi. It runs as Kodama between Shin-Osaka and Hakata now.

Are they not the most fantastic looking train on this planet. I travelled on the "slow" Shinkansen in 2006. only 265Kph, but oh soooo smooth. A wow trip. you get served by a woman who enter your carriage and bows, serves (communication was difficult to say the least) at the other end of the carriage she politely bows before leaving the carriage....nice.

Other Shinkansen trains may be faster but the 500 is the most beautiful one for me. Thanks for uploading.

I loved the smoothness of the ride, never jolted, and sound of it, so serene.

Japan is such a fabulous country. I visited Japan in April '06 with my wife and daughter. We really loved the beautiful country and the Japanese people trated us so well. We spent one night away in the Fujyia Hotel in Hakone and we did a return daytrip on the Shinkansen 700 to Kyoto. I can't wait to go back to japan, we loved the place so much.

This is why I respect Japanese people. They contribute to the progress of our kind. Unlike some people who are too busy fighting over whose 1000 year old myths and believes are true.

The 500 series Shinkansen looks so futuristic & modern, i love the way it slides past the platform looking so sleek...
@adnarim200813 жыл бұрын
nice... from inside it seems to be same speed as virgin trains (london to preston)
@Bevoin197014 жыл бұрын
That is one very sleek looking train - Almost like "Concorde" on wheels. It almost looks like it should be flying as opposed to running on rails... Even the Platform looks sleek. Im very impressed!!! 5* from England

@ewind55 The fact is, there's one person died in the Shinkasen before. But it wasn't accidental or JR's fault. It was an heart attack. But it wasn't because of the train speed or something,,. But the legend of Japanese shinkansen safty history was made especially right after that mega- earth quake. None of opperated shinakansen went off the rail. Can you imagine that?

@Gerwalk1982 The TGV reaching this speed is just an overtuned version witch only purpose was to reach the world record the normal TGV is far slower. The fastest train produced in series is the Siemens Velaro.

Ahaha, That's the fact... On main corridor for Shinkansen, Tokaido-Sanyo lines, normally 16 carriages, yes, 16, and total length 1/4 mile - 400 mtrs. When train leaves Tokyo station and the head or nose, you say, reaches next local station (Yurakucho - Shinkansen pass there, of course) the tail, or, last carriages are still within Tokyo station. I have walked from the top to the last carriage while travelling, once. Silly.

English Translation: If you were to compare the two with sumo, the Shinkansen would be the Yokozuna (strongest) and the TGV would be the Ozeki (2nd Strongest). The only aspect the TGV actually is better than its Japanese couterpart is speed, but that is because of geological factors, not technological ones. If you look at the total systems themselves (train sets, schedule management etc), the Shinkansen is miles ahead of the TGV. Some of the French actually say this too.
