+MinecraftGuy 1.7.10 Ahh yes, my old girl 438. Nothing will beat the noise that she made! Before 438 went into her quiet phase just before her crash, her cooling fan was just like AX584 featured in this video, so you can imagine the chills I got when I heard the fan come on in this trip!

TheIrish RoadSurfer I do like the Dennis Trident Alexander ALX400 buses as the LG02 reg examples in London sound great when driven properly. My video of SN51SZE on the 57 to Kingston does have a nice bit of kickdown after it leaves Wimbledon as the driver gives it some welly. If you want to film any of the London United TLA-class Dennis Trident Alexander ALX400's on the Route 94, be quick as they are due to be replaced in March by the Enviro 400MMC electric buses on the BYD chassis. Other than that, there is plenty of New Routemasters to enjoy.

So this is what produces that noise. I've always wondered what it was (no wonder it's pretty common to hear during really hot days). Some of the engines in London produce this roar (although it's very rare now that most of the engines have different sounds :() I get mega-goosebumps for some reason when on a bus with this load roar. Some buses really make a noise (and I love it). Most people find it annoying I guess which is why TFL probably made their engines quieter.

If you want to hear a cooling fan in London, I advice you to go on Stagecoach London 36340, the cooling fan is really loud.
