Rei released this album for a Planetarium. He's (was) that cool. Rest in peace Rei (10 December 1970 - 27 July 2011)... we miss you dearly.

Glad you like it... :) He composed the background music that is played while using the MEGASTAR-II cosmos, recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as being the World’s Most Advanced Planetarium Projector, which debuted at the Miraikan (a Japanese technology museum). This background music was released as an album called “Colors of the Dark” in 2006.

I always pictured an empty old aerodrome, used as an airport, on a foggy night. Empty runways, but the lights are on. Suddenly an aeroplane lands, the door opens and a staircase magically displays, but the aeroplane is also empty of passengers, empty aisles, empty bussines class, empty first class, empty toilets, empty decks, no crew. Only the pilot comes out from the cockpit and descends. Then another aeroplane desecnds, but it's an unmanned vehicle. Again, the runways are empty, the lights are on, the fog makes it speciall. The control tower is shining but nobody is inside it, the radio is on but no signal is received. The landscape is void of high rise buildings. The airport building is glaring in light, but it's empty. Automatic doors working, but remain closed as nobody walks. The pilots goes inside and everything squeaky clean, all stored are open, but no man is inside, he travels across the building, his steps resonate across the whole space, then, after minutes walking through corridors, control access, hallways and empty toilests he reaches the car park, it's empty but for one car, he steps in the car, the image zooms out and vanishes into the fog. Only Rei Harakamis music wakes my imagination like this. What a pity he isn't among us anymore R.I.P. Harakami.
