What I love about this video is the natural white noise during a snowstorm. This is why this video is my go-to for snow videos. No crappy music or crappy watermarks/logos to take away. This is how a snow video is done right. You just can't find a good relaxing snow video these days other than this one, folks. I wish this person would make a new one just like this but in 4k. I sit and drink hot chocolate to this video.

I've been playing this in the background while I work today -- very relaxing! This is one of the better snow videos youtube and the use of wind sounds is perfectly done. Thanks for sharing!
@billgucci83782 жыл бұрын
There was a Pine forest behind my house growing up. I would run to it during the first snow to hear that gentle whistling wind sound filtered by the pine branches and needles, but mostly to hear the tinkling sounds of snowflakes bouncing off the frozen needles. The sound was musical and this video captures it in places.

I want to thank you wholeheartedly for uploading this video. I live in Iran and it never snows here but I look at this video and pretend I'm looking out of my own window. It's so soothing. I think snow is a great blessing for people who can see it every year. It's a pity we don't get to see and enjoy it.

I love the variety of wind sounds, it's not just a short loop repeated forever.
@RichardArsenault4 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Yes it is layered and I specifically wanted to avoid "loops" because it's annoying when sound-machines or relaxation tapes loop. A sound engineer explained that the human ear is 50,000 times more sensitive than eyes, so you really can't loop sounds without people noticing. thanks for your comment😀

My childhood rural town snows almost every year. Now that I’m older and have since moved out to the big city in the hot desert, I can’t see this without visiting my parents’ house. I miss this, oh good golly do I miss this. Even though this year is a hot one, and it’s unlikely to snow on Christmas, I would love to see this sight again sometime soon.
@thunderboltchastain30658 жыл бұрын
I love this video in its entirety, especially the slight movement of the trees. Richard, you have a great logo design. I appreciate that you put it discretely at thet lower right hand corner, rather than a big, honkin logo that distracts from the video image. Very nice, Thank you so much.

Glad I found this. I'm from Montana and really miss this snow this time of year. 82 degrees is the forecast for Christmas here in Austin. That’s just wrong!! Last night I had this link playing and maximized on my large flat screen at home. And today it’s in the background on my monitor here at work to enjoy once in a while.

Listen only to the sound of my voice. Let your mind relax. Let your thoughts drift. Let the bad memories fade. Let peace be upon you. Surrender yourself to your dreams. Let them wash over you like the gentle waves of the bluest ocean. Let them envelop you. Comfort you. Imagine somewhere calm. Imagine somewhere safe. Imagine yourself... in a frozen forest. You're standing in a clearing. The trees around you so tall they touch the sky. Pure white snowflakes fall all around. You can feel them melt on your skin. You are not cold. It cannot overcome the warmth of your beating heart. Can you hear it? You only have to listen... Do you hear it slowing? You are slowing it. You are in control. Calm. At peace.

When i was 12 i had to move to texas with my family. Its been 38 yrs. I miss the snow and the pines. I got used to texas. But something lately feels like its missing. If i had the opportunity i would move back to Minnesota. I hate dfw now. Im sick of the city. I feel my step father drug me from my safe place in mn and destroyed my future. I was in 6th grade. I was supposed to go to high school there that next yr. Life would have been different for me i know. I love nature because of being a minnesotan. I love the summer yes. But i love the lake. Im missing who i really am.

This is a beautiful video but the forester in me has a comment. The tress on the left and right and some of those in the background are probably firs because the branches grow up from the main stem. A few of those in the background that are pointed are probalby spruces because spruce limbs leave the main stem pointing down and then arch up. That growth pattern gives the spruces a more compact look. Some of the trees may be hemlocks but at this distance and resolution, it is diffucult to tell.
