Kelly's Heroes is by far one of my favorite World War II films, even though none of the events depicted in the movie ever happened, except the Americans were fighting Nazi Germany in Europe. Still, this is one of Clint Eastwood's best films with a great supporting cast. Don Rickles in the movie was correct in saying ..."Robbing a Bank behind Enemy Lines could be the Perfect Crime, who's going to know...???"

@@michaelmorales4381 : Yes, that is a great scene. You'll notice their so called Captain, holding the gifts listening to the whole thing. The young officer knows that the people talking on the radio are his company, and his men, but he has to keep his mouth closed because the General and all of the officers present would ask him..."Why are YOU not there with your men in battle?????" Ha Ha..!!!
@Mrkabrat
@Mrkabrat 2 жыл бұрын
@@timothycrowne3193 Don't forget scenes like the captain telling the company "Remember; no looting!" while driving away with a yacht he got his hands on. Or the one at the end of the movie when the same captain goes into the bank and finds a graffitti reading "Up yours". Clearly the company knew he would go to the bank to get his hands on some goodies

_Kelly's Heroes_ -- A great and fun movie -- loved it! _Burning Bridges_ -- My opinion, one of the greatest theme songs for a movie, especially a war movie. I so remember when this song came out on the radio -- never got tired of listening to it .... and still never tire of it. The Mike Curb Congregation did it perfectly. And, I don't think Clint Eastwood has looked any better than he did in this movie. Love his style!

No matter what new movies come out about WWII, Kelly's Heroes still comes out on top as one of the very best. I think the first time I saw it was when I was 11-12 years old, sometime 1989 I would think when I first saw it on TCM. I've been in love with it ever since.

The movie....the ACTORS (so many of them gone now....).....and topped off with this for the musical score. I wish I could watch it for the first time....a hundred more times. In a weird twist of fate....my combat patch IS the 35th I.D. the same as their unit patch. That puts a smile on my face.

Hard to believe I was 15 when this came out. I remember every boy in the neighborhood lining up to see this. Even in 1970 we knew the cast was really something special. The characters they played were perfect real personality fits. For me the most memorable scene was Odd Ball leading the tanks out of the tunnel and blowing up the German freight train station, blasting away to a country song I still to this day do not know and ending with "I've been working on the railroad". I've got to find this on Blu-Ray. They don't make'em like they use to!!!!!

My Dad, who fought in Patton's Third Army, loved this movie!! I even got a few war stories out of him while watching this. Typical vet, never wanted to talk about the war and the more that I have learned about where and when he served, I understand why. I remember one time watching this with him and the scene where they guy with the red scarf opens up those window shutters and gets his machine gun rolling, my Dad was like, "That's it! Get that BAR up and running!" He was a scout in the 66th Armored Field Artillery Battalion, part of the Fourth Armored Division and he saw a lot...

I saw this film in the cinema with my brother in law, his 50 anniversary was today. I lost my wallet in the cinema all those years ago. Went back the next day and got it back intact. Great film fantastic sound track. The cast is brilliant. Up there with the best movies. The shots in this clip of some great actors are bloody fantastic 😊

As a kid I didn't get the 1960s/1970s soundtrack in a WWII film. I still think the highlights were Carroll O'Conner listening in to Team Kelley as they break into the German lines to start their heist/liberation and the professionalism of their attack on the German garrison in the town where the bank was located.
