I managed to nail this build a few days ago using a 2h. 400% dk/zerker/w.mage with 120% swordsman. Idk why the 120 swordsman. Probably just because I could. But it's awesome for soloing the hardest content in the game because if I die I also get a free revive so there is more room for mistakes. My 2h is a crappy 4* level 300 but it feels less sluggish than the axe while still keeping most of its power. I named it after dark knight Cecil from ff4

I think the 400% DK/250% Zerker combo is one of the big ones along with the red mage/chaosbringer spam build. Because of that there's lots of helpful videos and ways to play. This video uses the axe, which I love as my main ad clearing weapon. Few things I've played with/seen around: 1.) You can put fists on DK and they have faster attack combo. With blood weapon this heals you faster and more regularly. On, at least PS5, the weapon charged attack takes a bit of time before it gives you the health and you often find yourself in tricky situations. Either this lands and I do great damage or the enemy does something stupid I can't get away from/interrupts me/etc. and can easily kill me. So note your different advantages in weapons and adjust accordingly. 2.) A 4th charged attack seems weird to me, but I bet it's great early on. Later stages I was easily pushing damage cap at just 3 or less charges. That's not including any buff. So a consistent use of mighty strikes and other buffs I doubt you'd need 3 to reach damage cap. This is actually better as some enemies absolutely punish you for having the audacity to fully charge an attack and you lose damage, mp, etc. Faster charge times are better, but I don't see axe needing a 4th charge endgame due to current damage caps. 3.) Zerker is essential for a charge build on some boss fights as any attack can stagger you. Losing all that MP, damage, and etc. off a well-timed, but still unfortunate charge sucks. However, without Zerker liberator is also a good class. Liberator's mighty guard will heal over time and also gives you attack reduction. *Edit: There's a command you can use that gives you that stagger resist if you choose not to zerker. I'd replace reinforce with it. 4.) DK's 400% passive always allowing near-death attack reduction on you and attack increase on enemies can be enhanced with mastery points and gear making you able to stack multiple sources allowing you to expand this even further the more you put into it. To the point you can fisty-cuffs any chaos 300 boss in less than a minute by punching them endlessly. If I'm wrong let me know, if you got more tips add 'em.

Reinforce is the command ability that reduces stagger resist. It increases charge time and makes it harder for enemies to stagger you.

4th charge i think boosts the break damage (hp dmg is capped at 9999 yes, but break isn't), so charging to 4 and doing a instant full break to bosses is possibly this build tactic as I've seen from his video intro

Maybe because they were expecting more of a Final Fantasy game like XV or VII remake? IDK, but as a huge fan of all Team Ninja's games and of Final Fantasy this is GOTY for me so far.

I get a lot of mileage out of having 400% affinity Dark knight paired with 250% berserker, and 120% black mage. 1. Berserker stats pair well with dark knight, you also get 100% up time of protect and shell because of the last resort on dark knight. The break gauge refill is also a great plus. 2. Black mage buffs break damage done with magic, which is every attack made while in soul eater. This may not pair with axes well, but faster weapons can melt enemy break gauges. The intelligence boost also seems to increase damage with soul eater.

As much as i enjoy axes, i actually like greatsword and long sword more on dark knight. Dont get me wrong, the damage is intoxicating, but i really like the dark sword skills and i also just like the gs playstyle. Axes felt too easy through the first playthrough. Legit like 3 shot the final boss because i was lucky enough to have 400% dk affinity and a decent axe.

I've been using DRK with 400 Affinity + 260 Affinity Berseker because 400 Affinity DRK gives Low Health Bonuses at any health and 260 Berseker gives Shell and Protect at low HP combined with Break Gauage recovery based on Damage. It's been pretty fun I felt unstoppable in Chaos blocking/Soul Guarding things and then countering with hard damage while using Blood Weapon to keep me at Max HP it's been a blast, while chunking down enemies and boss health bars, even power through a full hits with Combo Abilities and just healing all the way to full, while using Mighty Strikes and switching between Summon Tachi and Reinforce based on weapon i'm using I like Greatsword personally so Reinforce isn't that greatest since it doesnt have as many charges

- Get a job to 40 at least for 10 Mastery points and put them into Drop Rate. - Change Special Effect on each piece of gear to Drop Rate. - Upgrade said Drop Rate effect to max on each piece of equipment you're using to farm with. - Aim for 400% Thief Affinity as that will increase the drop rate of rare items (Presumably Job Crests, Artifacts, and 5 Star equipment) Not all of that is required but helps immensely. Different areas drop different gear, also.

The scythes are all axes, they're not a seperate weapon type.

you need to be in dark knight. if you swap to secondary job (berserker) it won't be active.

It only appear in the stage where you fight astos. I got a full set on my dk build with the Ragnarok great sword which also increase damage near death. I got them all upgraded and they does +82.4 near death damage.

I’m having a really hard time with mana. If I use the active skill buffs that’s already 2 of my bars which is all we start with. I’m not end game so don’t have the 250% to recharge mana. Do you think the 250% from red mage that charges mp is sufficient for now? Any tips are appreciated. I get 2 shotted by regular mobs for some reason.

You will always get one shotted unfortunately. The best way to reduce Command costs is 400% Void Knight Affinity.
