In de herfst, als er sneeuw valt en het sneeuwdek zich aandient, is het een aangenaam moment. Toen ik de video bekeek, voelde ik een gevoel van koelte en frisheid. Maar toch vind ik het geweldig als zich sneeuwbanken aan de bomen vormen. Het is ongelooflijk mooi. Eekhoorns laten ook sneeuw van bovenaf vallen als ze langs de takken rennen. Gelukkige momenten. Bedankt voor de interessante video en herinneringen.

If, somehow you were able to mount your camera at the top of the front screen of the new rolling stock (SLT, DDZ, etc) could the view from the Koplopers be emulated?

leuke video weer, mooi in zo'n winters landschap. Helaas dat je daardoor de route en de snelheidsmeter bijna niet meer ziet, want die zijn ook wit. Misschien is de kleur te veranderen of kunnen ze rechtsbovenin staan met dit soort ritten. Fijn weekend verder!

Dankjewel! De snelheidsmeter is wel vaker wat minder zichtbaar, wat ik niet erg vind omdat het meer om het uitzicht gaat. Maar in dit geval met zo veel wit is het een goede tip van je om hem een volgende iets meer te laten opvallen.

As always, I loved it. What is the percentage split between solo Koplopers, and the double train sets? Are there set days when they always run as doubles, or is it dependent on the times of the day, or seasons of the year? And I did have a thought as you came, slowly, into the Terminus. Do you get many "one under's", as we call them in the service? Where someone jumps, falls or is pushed from the platform, under a train?

@@Wizardess I am in the middle of planning a Netherlands railway layout, in T-gauge, 1/450, and already have 2 Koplopers, and 2 V-IRM duplex sets, plus a couple of "Broken Noses". I expect I'll vary how, and when I link two trains together, they just look so wonderful when that much longer. The Koploper is one of my three favourite trains, the TGV being another one, and the Class 180 British High Speed Inter-City.

Doubles (very common), triples (less common but certainly not special) all come down to expected number of passengers for the time of day. I don't know if quadruples of 3-car sets are technically possible, but expect they are (as this elongates the total train to a the maximum of 12 cars, which is the longest possible consist in passenger service). 'One under's' are (fortunately) a rarity as far as I know. It does happen, but usually makes national headlines when it does.

Mooie video en een mooi sneeuwlandschap! Was de trein warm genoeg voor je om te rijden? Reed deze treinserie (1500) heel vroeger verder dan Amsterdam richting Enkhuizen? De trein is wel lawaaierig van binnen, niet? Wat is dat voor geluid?

Dankjewel! Ja, verwarming is in de meeste treinen goed. Inderdaad reed deze treinserie in het verleden door naar Enkhuizen, was altijd een mooie rit vanaf Amersfoort. Ze maken inderdaad veel lawaai. Soms de ventilatie, meestal ook een hoop windruis helaas.

Want de huidige treinseries 2900/3900, die van Nederlandse Limburg naar Enkhuizen rijden, hebben wel enorm lange route en ze zijn daardoor ook vertragingsgevoelig, niet?

I think this was the ventilation system. Luckily it is reduced a bit while driving faster.

De SNG die je tegenkomt bij vertrek uit Amersfoort is schoon (+ er lijkt iets op de neus te hangen wat ik niet herken) dat is opvallend. Verder, is er iets gewijzigd aan de audio-settings van de opname? Ik hoor een continue ondertoon/piep en de audio-signalen van het ATB-systeem klinken wat vreemd. Beide kunnen uiteraard ook aan dit specifieke setje materieel liggen. Een mooie rit door ons kleine witje landje, dankuwel meester

Haha, ja schoon is de laatste jaren ook iets bijzonders ja ;-) Het gejengel komt van de ventilatie, en de atb-signalen zijn van het irritant schelle elektronische type.

Soestduinen station closed on May 24, 1998. The trackworks near the Dijksgracht are preparations for the major overhaul of the complete rail-entrance of Amsterdam CS eastside and the complete overhaul of Amsterdam CS itself. Multiple tracks will disappear (especially all the center tracks between platforms will be removed) finally making necessary space to widen the platforms, something that should have happened 25 years ago already. A lot of switches will be removed as well unfortunately. This enables trains to continue driving with higher speed as they approach Amsterdam CS (where they usually have to resort to 40 km/h for a long time) and enter Amsterdam CS at 80 km/h instead of the 40 km/h it is now, but this unfortunately removes the possibility to cross over the (almost) entire railyard in case of disruptions/malfunctions and will most likely end a lot of the cross-platform changes or even service-continuations (trains that officially terminate at Amsterdam CS, but continue service under a different number to a different destination up north in the same direction) The bridge between Amsterdam CS and the Dijksgracht was (or still is) also in a very bad condition and needs to be replaced.

Wow, 1951! Do you remember a railway connection to the airport? The Soestduinen station building is still there and can be seen in my other videos. It houses a restaurant so you could still visit it. Soestduinen is renamed Soest now..

A virtually all blue SNG, it will not matter what colours NS paint their trains, the Graffiti idiots will keep over -spraying them, graffiti and tagging make anything static or moving look ugly. I assume that the Dutch Royal train continues to consist of carriages and necessary locomotives, rather than being a reserved electric multiple unit, as there are still towns the in the Netherlands that are not served by electrified lines.
