With his sword literally being called "Demonic Sword." It's likely that the original Len kept his skill quiet for the same reasons our Len is keeping it quiet. How would people react to a 'demonic' type skill? My best guess is that because of the demonic nature of the sword, it caused his mind to deteriorate to the point that he either snapped and 'demonized' so to speak or someone took advantage of the situation to essentially brainwash him to turn on them and thus killing the saintess. While skills aren't necessarily obligated to be beneficial to the user they shouldn't hinder the host to the point that they lose their minds without being able to prevent it. I think if he just told them "Don't freak out, but this is what my skill is. I'm scared of the implications of it being 'demonic' so can you help me understand it to see if there are any after effects?" and the whole thing probably could've been prevented. "Silence kills." As some would say 🤷

I'm on a quest- a difficult one: I'm going to find the worst isekai (or medieval fantasy story with lazy videogame rules and worldbuilding) of all time. And I can say this isn't it. The story is a bit bland, the MC is generic, but at the very least it's one of the very few where the relationship between the MC and the MH takes some time and develops somewhat naturally and it's justified, not the usual "love at first sight" from the average power fantasy story- you'll see at the part two.

Is it really a butterfly effect? Cause the sword saintess can't be romanced in the game. You don't know both their childhood stories. So it's likely she is in love with the villain of the game. That is why you can't ever romance with her. I'm going to guess that she is murdered because of that, and it is pinned on him. I hope this is the case because it would be more tragic because his own action of pushing her away leads to her death.

Well, I wonder about that honestly. I have a suspicion that there have been subtle changes through my thought process. Of course, regardless they're going to find a reason for him to go to the capital with her. But I think that the personalities between our Len and the past Len are likely vastly different. My guess is that Original Len didn't train as hard as our Len has, and thus lost to the saintess leading to him being taken to the capital then the rest is history. My best guess is that her type is someone stronger than her with a good personality, which the past len probably lacked. And the reason why she was romance blocked was because she only saw Len as a candidate at the time and was waiting for him to get strong enough to best her in combat. But in this timeline, not only does he have a good personality, but he also bested her in combat. With her declaration of coming back to challenge him until she wins to take him to the captial, as well as her getting flustered with him a few times is probably indication of her feelings and they're probably only going to grow (Predictable). It's kinda screwed up when you think that the one she had interest in stabbed her in the back like that. (I think the reason why past Len killed her is because of his lack of understanding of his own skill and eventually lost control of it and thus himself. It's either that or he got brainwashed / mind controlled by someone.)

Spoiler . . . . . . . . . . . . . The original Len went with the Saintess to the capital. Originally his father was suppose to have been killed by the Thief Wolfen since Len was not able to get the herbs and without the father, they were unable to stop a rogue elf from rampaging their village leading to his mother becoming comatose and him being adopted by Licia's family as her family was the lords Ren family served. And no in the original "game" timeline she was in love with Ren as well which was why she cannot be romanced by the "player character" (The Hero).

I can't understand the mc... Only by having power can one defend himself and what he cherish (even more in a fantasy world where strength means everything and any being a little strong can destroy cities or countries) ... So why is he so hellbent on remaining weak as f*ck (staying in the countryside would only hinder his growth) I thought the monster incident would have convinced him to leave the village once his father's health is better but even after the "potential" threat of a noble war he doesn't have any determination of growing strong faster :-/ And the mc should really stop worrying about the girl who died in the game (he doesn't know exactly how or why it happened ...
