I agree with Kop. What I think probably happened is the hunter just forgot to drop his key to an 8. I've done it a couple of times, where I list my key as a couple of levels lower, due to lack of confidence and just forget to drop it. The DH would've been in the right to leave either straight away, or after it became obvious the group couldn't do a 10, but neither of these things happened.

I know the druid and the evoker from the first clip, very well actually to explain her pre-key comments, she (the druid) just talks like that with us friends in keys where we know its joking (saying stuff like "DONT TELL ME WHAT TO DO." she'll do it and we know she will lol). she does it in pugs too apparently but she doesnt pug nearly as much as i have for example. the aug voker is her boyfriend i think that this was at a point in the season where she was tired of pugs (she is used to running with a tank who is very good, in vc) and she wanted a safe route and not to try something different. she would probably have tried it not in a pug, but i think the out of the box route put her off we have way different methods for handling pugs because she's less used to it than me. i was really surprised to see them in a video lol i also had someone put in the wrong key for the first time this season. it was a 3-stack and apparently the dude who did it was a friend-of-a-friend. it was advertised as a +12 and a 10 got put in. no one at all realized until the key was almost over, i didnt even realize until approaching the last boss. we stuck it out because early AV=chance for tome

Had a random invite to an 8 BH last night we had a few deaths but an ez time, turns out they just wanted a capable lust at 1:30am. Very friendly group and made the +2 shitshows worth struggling through for io I guess, definitely remotivated me to keep pushing this season on the mm huntard. Pug life is hard, it’s definitely the formerly 5th affix

As far as the tank leaving the key seemed like he was probably going to do it I believe he was the one complaining about DPS was too low. I don't think he realized it was a 10, maybe... at any rate, they could have finished it more than likely, but it wasn't what he signed up for. I wonder if leaving keys could be something that shows up on like RIO score at least. idk someone's probably already thought of that, not sure if that would even be something they could track w/o blizzard implementing something.

Thanks! But in terms of leaving blizzard only has api for keys finishing. So there is no way to even know a key started unless it ends, which is unfortunate.

The tank leaving is kinda dumb, wasting peoples time which you can’t get back… if it’s 2lvls higher and things are going smooth why leave?! Has happened to me before with my prot warrior and I just tell them if we can’t make the timer then we can run it back at a lower level if the group seems to mesh well

Yeah NO has been quite the experience so far this season. in MOST of the runs I have done it has gone objectively smoothly (just like that second clip was going) but there have been a number of times on stream where I have signed up, been invited gotten to the dungeon and the group just falls apart. Either I get removed, which hey I get maybe someone's friend came online and they wanted to invite them or they found a better meta pick its whatever (although saying something to let me know would be nice), or everyone else just drops group after I have loaded into the instance with ZERO communication. It's freaking weird. But these two were just amazing examples of why low key pugging can be both hilarious and frustrating. While I REALLY wanted to see that first group go just so I could see what the BDK wanted to do in terms of a different route and his pet etc, I was kind of mildly annoyed that the second group bricked because we were doing so well, and NO being a s1 dungeon I don't actually have the portal from there yet. Plus even if the hunter was being super duper "sus" (as the kids say) it's still a BETTER key than the one we all signed up for and we were doing well. Anyway thanks for the review bud. glad I could find some low key moments for ya this season. Planning on taking my Firetree WW into low keys this week (after I get all 10s done on my main) for the lols and hopefully for more funny moments (and hopefully some extra bullion lol) so if I find something I will send it on over for ya. 😉

5:50 I've actually done this 3 times this expansion and ALL 3 times I've had no recollection of doing it. Like I've done it in keys where I didnt even realise I had a key for that specific dungeon. It only backfired ones and that was recently in Ruby, my friend had a 13 RLP and mine was a 12. We formed a group to do his 13 and at last boss we realise it was only a 12. Ret then left because he didnt want to boost others key "this guy was lowest dmg and lowest IO btw" but yeah its kinda freaky that I've just started random keys without even remembering it

We tried this method last night. Double DK started at Marok and the other one. Control Undead two Mistics, the resto druid and the Blood DK liked it. If you hop on dragon flying mout once you hit 300%+ speed, the Mystic despawns. If you regular fly you can keep it.

One time in shadowland i get invited in a key +14. When donjon started it was a 18, we all go to the end even if it was not timed. Because keyholder known he had fuckup the group finder and decided to take us all even if we don't have the "true level" for this kind of key. For myself, at that time I never done a 15+. One of the best kind groupe i had the opportunity to play for, no toxicity 5 men playing a video game for fun.

I signed up for a 20 Fall last season.... it was a 25. We didn't notice until the second boss room. I was healing and we wiped over and over. I was the only pug in the group and they were all super chill about it.

I typically help guildys with 7s-9s to get some gear or fill vaults. I feel like its pretty common to +2 or +3 those keys and move on to the next. Sometimes the key holder forgets to drop the key as were just moving to the next. I think its very possible the same thing happened to the hunter. Maybe he was just spamming 8s and forgot to drop his key. Everything in that run looked fine and I don't know why the DH left unless he was just tilted for it being listed wrong =/

I don't understand it myself. Even if you know you won't time it, it's still better loot(and potentially score) than an 8. Maybe worried the stormboss would be a wall? Then again I've had people leave 2's while I'm gearing an alt.

I had a similar thing happen, new to tanking went into what was posted as normal amil. fine w.e trash took a bit longer to kil but didnt think much of it, then on the first boss we got a massive tone of adds and I was "wtf...." and it didnt dawn on me until the branch burn phase where you actually have to soak the flame that it was ninja Heroic. we got 2nd boss down and then decided to do normal, was funny but the dude def did it on purpose

The tank was 1000% in the wrong. If he objected then, he shoulda left then. I wouldn't blame someone for leaving on being hoodwinked on the key level, but the time to do that is at the time of the offense being noticed. I'm personally of the opinion to feel the group out and give it a trial pull or two if that happens to me, unless I'm trying to farm crests at a specific level.

Two things could have happened. Since when listing it autopopulates the key level, so they had to edit the key number. they either meant to lower it but forgot, or someone else jammed their key in and kept quiet about it to see if it could play out. One is an innocent mistake, the second is just rude. Agree with your statement that if it were the latter. I’d leave the key. Tank staying as long as they did was weird though.

Happened to me this week, I applied to a 7 HOI that turned out to be a 9 because the guy forgot to drop it. I would've sticked with it because I frankly didnt feel the damage difference as a tank, we had to disband because the 515 resto druid couldn't keep the group alive on bosses.

If the key holder doesn’t care then it’s probably fine. But by continuing the key after that for that long means you committed to run. Granted, DH could have just kept going on the off chance they signed up for the wrong key and only looked at the chat to confirm it wasn’t his fault when the attention could be spared. But really looks like they could have done it in time if there were no further issues.

I had a fun disband the other day. Just a NO M0 on my VDH so I could get used to some pulls. Low DPS, not a problem. Healer was new, not an issue. We could not get past the first boss because the DPS never swapped to the mob who disables the catapults. We wiped 3 times due to it. They would swap on the first and forget the 2nd.

Last season i got into a group that was listed as an 18, but it was only a 17. Your video has the opposite where the key turns out to be higher than intended. I felt misled after the key was over as i was trying to get a mythic vault piece for that character. However, i didnt even realize it was a 17 until thr very end. Towards ending season 3 i started to run into few keys misleading. I just ran them for vault didn't matter to me. Would be cool if blizzard some how when in group you can see which key person has before go make sure right one.

Like many others have said before me I think hunter genuinely forgot to lower the key, I would have stayed if I was the tank even if we don't time because it's a guaranteed vault slot at +10 on week 1 and they didn't seem to struggle too much.. If i sign up for a +2, and someone sneaks in a +7, I do not intend to stick around and I let the leader know. If people ask why, I have no problem explaining to them that I queued for a specific level for a reason. Farming crests is always more lucrative to do on the lowest level. Work smarter, not harder.

Honestly with the 10, if you get past that big pull with 3 deaths in week 1 sounds solid and I'd definitely just keep going. It is a game not a job have fun with an unexpected difficulty. Also if you kept going instead of calling it the moment people noticed, you've committed. That was the go-nogo conversation right there, tank kept going and nobody else left. It is pretty toxic to keep pulling, including the boss, and THEN quit.

Regarding sign up validity. I think that in the event of a undiscussed change, it is completely fine to leave. If you straight up didn’t get what you ordered from a restaurant, that’s a valid complaint. If you order a specific product on Amazon and another arrives, valid complaint. If you take a history class and your teacher busts out the chemistry book, you’d leave because chemists are wizards and they’re insane.

Okay but counterpoint. (Using your restaurant analogy.) What if you don't get what you ordered, discover it and still eat a good portion of the meal before you try and send it back, or leave and nto pay. Is that still a valid complaint? Or in your Amazon analogy, what if you use some of the product you KNOW isn't what you ordered before sending it back, is it a valid complaint, then? Or if you are in a history class and the teacher busts out a chemistry book to teach you about madame Curie and the discovery of radium, are they still insane wizards (or is the history teacher teaching you about the history of insane wizards). See my whole issue is, if the tank didn't want to do a 10 and left as soon as it was discovered to be one, or even after some cataclysmic wipe, I would have no issue with that (still should have said something in chat though to not do so is just rude). The problem I have is they stayed, we finished the boss with no issue on a tyrannical week, and they STILL left. IT kind of felt like they decided to troll. Like their thought pattern was "okay you wasted like 5 minutes of my time with a key I didn't sign up for, so I'll waste an additional 8 minutes of yours to get you back, and the rest of the group too just out of spite". Not trying to argue or cause a ruckus, just saying that there comes a point where the valid complaint is just no longer valid because they continued the key, without saying anything. (Even if they had said "okay we'll try the 1st boss and see how it goes" I would have less of an issue with it, but they were silent on the issue the whole time.)

If the hunter is unable to carry his weight on a tank&spank fight, how is he going to perform on the much more difficult rest of the dungeon? If he's bad at his class, chances are he's also bad at mechanics. If the goal is to time the key, especially on week 1, it is not unreasonable to require adequate dps from everyone. Considering the hunter didn't even want to do a +10 in the first place, it's not a big loss. I agree with you however , the DH should not have left, for all the reasons you explained on your channel.

Interesting one this. If I sign up for a +10 and its actually a +8, that is an oh hell no. If I sign up for a +8 and it turns out to be a +10.. Yea I'm cool with that lol. Take that free +10 key as an attempt with no real consequence for failure. I actually agree with you like, if he had a problem with it being a 10 then just speak up when the situation is first addressed. It seems very strange to stay for the rest of the opening trash, which goes cleanly, kill the first boss without issue and THEN decide to leave? Doesn't make sense to me.

Most people don't care at all about score, they're just doing 8s for vault. Why would someone stay for a 10 that will take quite a bit longer and risk not even being completed if all they want it vault slots? There's nothing to gain if you value score at 0 so why waste time? That's the consequence of failure.

I dont understand this. Hunter upgraded his key, didnt feel like he could do a 10, listed the 8, forgot to drop it. Happens all the time. But once it was noticed it shouldve been decided to give it a try cause why not, or all out and reset.

I agree with Kop as well. Regardless of how the key level was not correct, and there could be a variety of reasons, the tank essentially agreed to continue on by his silence. If he didn't like the situation, the time to leave was after he asked about it.

The hunter just forgot to drop I'm sure. Here is what I believe happened. The DH mentioned that he thought that the damage was low. So he was immediately skeptical about whether a 10 was timeable or even completeable. It is a tyrannical week so obviously the group is likely to struggle most on the bosses. Especially with it being week 1. This tank was likely farming his BIS weapon and has done this dungeon multiple times already and I don't know if it was before the final boss nerfs that went live in the middle of the week or not. So he went ahead and pulled to the first boss obviously with the intention of assessing how things go along the way. After the first boss he came to the conclusion that it wasn't timeable/completeable. If you look at their healthbars, the dps done, and the time it took to kill the boss I'd have to say I agree. The healer was barely able to keep the group alive and the damage wasn't great. We only saw a short clip of the fight so I don't know what else happened or if there were any deaths. That being said if a healer is struggling to keep the group topped on first boss there is no way they'll keep the group up on any of the subsequent bosses. That coupled with the low damage=not completable. The tank obviously came to that conclusion after the first boss and decided that he didn't want to waste his time. If I were in that spot I'd probably say something like "This isn't completeable." And then just leave group. Perhaps I'd ask after the first boss if it could be lowered to 8. It all depends on the interactions and how bad/good the group was. If I were in the group I wouldn't tilt about it. I'd probably sigh and laugh and go next. If it were my key I'd do the same because I posted it as an 8 and it was a 10. I can't be mad. These people signed up for an 8.

i do think if someone puts in a key level you didnt want, you could leave, more power to you if you try it out for a bit. like you say, you are not struggling and could possibly complete it. imo though you are not socially bound to run it for any reason.

@heythereguysitsMetro you can see them as individuals and at the same time not be bound to their mistakes. the dh should have left earlier if he wasnt feeling it. here in this example, its the only think he did wrong by prolonging the depletion. signing up for something and leaving when it is not what they said it was is not a slight or an attack on anyone in the party. i struggle to see why it would be when not assigning ill will to the tank or party leader.

@@heythereguysitsMetro I would on my main. I have all my buffs and mats on it with my highest gear lvl. Not on my alts which i play for a more stress free time. At the rate i gear my alt's it would take me near the end of the season to get up to a 8 keystone anyway on my alts. Last season i had only one alt that could do a 18 , in a stress free way. So no i would not try it , due to the mind set im in when playing differnt chars. Main = Hard content , Long Play Time , Alts = Stress free Short Play Time.

first run, they were lucky the druid read the chat before the timer started honestly. my experience is that whatever you say about routing will be ignored half the time and then if it's remotely different theres a good chance one of the players will lose the plot. second one, he took 2 groups at the start, right? 2 isnt a massive pull, 3 seems like an ask. still he thought it was an 8, so the mobs would have lower HP and damage so you can kill them before it gets out of hand, rather than dying. if hes not planning on doing small pulls and doesnt want to change it then thats fair enough, I suppose. I'd have played it out.

This is a common issue in the game where the players try to impose their will on the players where the game does not. That's not behavior you should partake in and honestly it makes you seem foolish. They can upgrade this key with that guy doing that damage and we don't know enough from one boss to say anything else at this point.

The druid in the first clip is absolutely in the right to leave that key. That route might not be fatally bad, but it adds a ton of extra time so that a mistake or wipe that wouldn't deplete the key now would. I am a tank and a huge proponent of unique routes, but your route can't just be objectively worse than the meta route. That is not a good cook. Also, the key hasn't started, this is the time that players SHOULD leave the group.

In Algethar Academy every pug I do 😅 all of them go straight to the tree boss and then realise I’ve pulled instead the whole bridge 😂😂 my route is designed on precision: 100.00% count. The tree is the third. But Nokhud there is only one viable route, despite any possible buff. That skip to last boss is huge.
