The worst cut content for me was the fact that you didn't have to sacrifice an existing character to turn it into a Death Knight, it would be so cool if you got some special customization or spell based on your previous class. They could even extend it to Demon Hunters, like leveling a belf and getting the choice to kill your character for the Lich King or earn eternal servitude to Illidan

omg you just unlocked a memory lol! my brother & I totally misunderstood the premise of how to originally get the DK. our young, naive selves thought an existing class gets “morphed” with the DK, & bc we shared toons on the same realm, we got into a huge argument as to who gets their character morphed with the DK.. we didn’t speak to each other for damn near a month lmaooo

@@sagetusk There are so many cool ideas they could've done. Like sacrifice your hunter to become a DK? Dark Ranger. Your Warlock? Necromancer. Your Paladin? Horseman. Your Mage? honorary San'Layn. And sure it doesn't make sense for druid, but you could give their own hero class, like Dryad or always being in a half-form like Malfurion.

Tattoo parlor sounds like a great idea for customizing toons with unique designs in a few different places, maybe like face, arms, legs and an option to make a piece of gear transparent or can be tailored to shorten sleeves and such

As someone who grew up playing wow pservers I have seen a lot of these old cut zones. Like emerald dream or the Azshara bg. Old pservers would use those zones as custom cities or leveling zones.

Spirit originally gave bonus to proc chance but was reworked before vanilla release to be solely focused on regen. The original iteration of spirit made it much more powerful, and an excellent stat for all DPS classes.

I learned this tidbit when i ran into a wow dev at GDC. Originally, those droppable flags (the flag of ownership...etc.) had collision. They had to remove the collision after the QA team used them to completely block off Zul Aman during a test .

Not sure if you'd be interested in this for a video idea but if you did a video about hidden content or content that was changed between expansions or something of that nature. I have videos from back in classic of how to get into old ironforge while the area was still blocked off, it looks wildly different than the area they opened up for players. It definitely had work put into it so im not sure if it was something from beta that they originally intended to implement but then cut it or what.. But i know there have been several zones like that throughout the games history.

Could’ve sworn Deathwing was originally supposed to have come out of somewhere in Eastern Kingdoms (Black Rock or Grim Batol maybe? Hence the cinematic), I think they changed the way you get to Deepholm to the Maelstrom to make it more central and make what happened in Kalimdor make more sense. different ways of doing it tho that do not involve bag space. hunters miss out on a whole bag slot for an ammo pouch & rogues needed powders for vanish & blind + poison & thieves tools.. if ur using consumables like thistle tea, takes up SO MUCH bag space.

1:36:00 When you talk about this potion, I'm pretty sure it was removed because in earlier versions of the game and maybe even still today if you get feared near terrain you can't normally climb, your character can actually just run right up it with zero fucks given if the fear pathing wills it. This was what led people to discovering what we knew as Wallwalking until it was removed in patch 1.9. Other things include getting feared through hills. With that knowledge in mind I feel it's a pretty safe assumption why they removed it. Especially since you could most likely further cheese it by having a warlock throw Curse of Recklessness (immunity to fear) to break the effect if you couldn't cancel it. On a fair few private servers for WoW, including Nostalrius at the time there was an exploit where you basically dueled a warlock, they feared you then immediately put on Curse of Reck. For the debuff duration of fear you had full control of your character but could just run up things. Got to the out of world Nefarian arena that would later become the entrace to Blackwind Descent that way.

Deathwing wasn’t imprisoned there. He was healing after wc2 and then his energy was leaking so he needed the plates. He burst out to just leave and that broke the world pillar which cause the elemental upheaval

Vashj'ir is my favourite WoW zone of all time, I'm even leveling in Cata rn to play it again in full glory. So naturally, the entitled part of the playerbase hated it and complained so much that Blizzard scrapped the whole raid that would explain that giant epic maelstrom you see when you finish questing in Vashj'ir. All because some crybabies couldn't handle 1 water boss. Which they later in BFA would still have to take on lol.

Regarding the "Test" eyepatch, since it has no special stats on it, it's 99% sure to be a matter of testing the model. In which case I'd like to point out how eyepatches, glasses, goggles, blindfolds, they need to toggle the eye glow part of the models of night elves, blood elves, draenei, undead and DKs off. Otherwise I've fiddled with at least a few instances on private servers with custom items where blindfold or eyepatch items kinda... look like dogshit, with half a slice of a low quality particle effect kinda clipping through the item. No longer a problem with the newer models that do other stuff for the glowing eyes instead of just having a floating particle effect sphere in front of the eye, like old Blood Elf models did. The way those glows were made is also why you couldn't have different eye colors on the old models. - You tried applying the Dark Ranger skin on a blood elf, they'd have red eye textures, but still have that green particle effect glowing in front of them.

Server first titles was a bad idea IMO. Sure, they put alot of work into getting firsts, but like it's only ever going to be a few people who have studied spreadsheets and routed out every single step to the goal... which is both kind of pathetic and a bit of a kill joy to the otherf 99.9% of the playerbase. think first titles would be best if players just stumbled into them, no fore warning and not for anything obvious like first max lvl or first max professions.. maybe like first 1000 hks or first to max with certain parameters such as a low threshold of downtime, basically not rewarding the 2 people who blitz to max without ever stopping.
