On one of these YNAB videos, I saw someone leave a comment that said that they always tell their friends to start saving for a ring right when they start dating someone new. That way, if it works out, they've got money for it, and if it doesn't. They've got a bunch of money to spend! As soon as I saw that, I started saving (although I'm pretty late, we've been together 4 years now)

We actually snagged the band when he bought the engagement ring! There was a 15% off sale the first week in April, so we took advantage (which was the true reason we went overbudget). But when overspending ends up saving you hundreds of dollars, you do it!! -Hannah 🌻
