Hey this is actually Brian. I meant to send you an update but kept forgetting. On my way in to John Day I ended up remembering that I had some 100lbs strength picture hanging wire in my tool kit. I fed it through the old clutch cable housing and was able to jerry rig up a temporary clutch cable. That evening I ended up making it to an old college friend's place in Bend, OR where I stayed for a few days and waited for a new cable to come in. Thanks again for the help you and David gave me. I still have the copper wiring David gave me sitting on my shelf as a memento from that day :D

Brian !!! I am so happy to hear from you. We worried about you. We hated to split off without knowing you were settled into a solution. So glad you made it home safely. We were happy to meet you that day. What an adventure. Keep us updated

LOL didn't know that was you passing me then! Right on! Those roads with the brush touching both ends of our handlebars were fun.

16:44 very nice drone shot from that old derelict bus to the rider passing by on the road. Good filming skills!

Big thanks. I loved that old bus. It was a dried lake bed. Such a cool spot

After the harvest, the potato trees really do look a bit neglected … Apart from that, the rest of the landscape is simply magnificent! And your channel joins Itchy Boots (and the more kind of tech-heavy Matt's Offroad Recovery, Fabrats, Diesel Brothers etc.) in my personal KZbin bestseller list.

@@MotoMission. I’ve been wanting to get an adventure bike and start riding again and your videos are giving me a lot to think about. But more than anything It’s been awesome to see you helping those you find in need on your adventures through our beautiful country. Makes me want to get out and make a difference as well.

Ah man. That’s really cool to hear. I encourage you to ride, to adventure. Some people wait and wait and then it’s too late. I have talked to so many people lately and heard many stories. But some have been full of regret. Met a guy who waited until he retired to take a vacation w his wife. Then when he retired he said he was “too old and tired” to travel. Full of regret. So sad. So. Don’t wait to long. There is much to discover

Steve !!! He buddy. I loved meeting you guys. What an epic trip. I had hoped to say hello the last day. But you beat us to the coast. We did see you on the road as you were headed south. So fun. Hope to see ya again soon. I’m potentially looking at Ireland in may.

@@MotoMission. yeah, we were pretty gutted we missed you and Dave too. We were actually talking to your wives on the beach who were patiently waiting for you both. Ireland isn't too far away from me (in US Terms?) And your always welcome to stay with me if ever in the Devon/Cornwall area. Take care Buddy.

Rode 100km without a clutch cable on a '77 KZ1000 in Germany. Stop signs and stop lights were issues. If you could not find neutral, you ended killing it and then push/pop staring it on the other side.

If you ever have to tow or be towed.. loop the rope around the back bikes foot peg and have rider step on it. That way they can let go if they need to.. I learned the hard-way.

Surely you got a magic trick to fix bikes like that!? I would think if you can pull a rabbit out of a hat, you could pull a clutch cable out of a hat? Maybe? 😅Glad y'all were able to help that fella! I ride alone everywhere I go; breaking down in the middle of nowhere is always a concern, but doesn't stop us from doing it! I guess we're all pretty much crazy! 😀
