I mean, this song is on the same high level as Schubert's or Vavilov's (Caccini's) Ave Maria... also beyond all spirituality, just wonderful music. * Igor Krutoy ( piano), *1954 in Ukraine SSR. He lives and works in Moscow/Russia. He is singer, a world- famous composer and music titan in Russia (billionaire). His family lives in the US. Krutoy came out of retirement to write songs for Dimash. The maestro and Dimash have been working together from time to time since 2018. They are friends and have a father-son relationship. Maestro Igor Krutoy shared the story of the creation of the work 'Ave Maria' for Dimash. When writing a hit, Krutoy is guided by the Italian principle: every composer is worth exactly what his latest work is worth, which means that all previous successes and achievements do not count. “On one of the nights, about three months before New Wave, Dimash called and asked if I could write 'Ave Maria' for him and he explained that he wanted to sing something in that style... Coincidentally, I had a spare evening, and I happily sat down at the piano and, inspired by the memory of the Italian formula of responsibility, worked until I achieved the desired result. Great reaction! Dimash requested for Igor to compose a new version of Ave Maria for him several months before this concert. Igor is Jewish and Dimash is Muslim. The result is a universal prayer for humanity, no words needed, you feel the music and the emotions in Dimash’s voice. A lot of people cry when listening to it. It’s very cathartic.

Yes, my dad had a wonderful Tenor voice, and, instilled a love of Opera in me. He died a few years ago, aged 96. I see a wonderful performance like this, and almost mentally make a note to myself to show Dad this performance, or that performance. And, then, I remember he isn't here to share it with. But, I know he'd absolutely love all of Dimash's performances. And, Forestella, and Zhou Shen, and Henry Lau. Maybe not so much my favourite Hua Chenyu (Rock, Rap, Reggae, Pop, SynthPop, Electronic, Ballads, Accoustic, Broadway, Traditional Chinese, Folk, Peking Opera... ). And a composer, music arranger and multi multi instrumentalist (like Dimash and Henry). Dad never "got" the modern stuff.😉 😂

Dimash singing makes me cry with many songs too. Ave Maria means "All Hail Mary" and it is a prayer to Maria the mother of Jesus for the Catholic Church. It is not ONE song: many composers used that prayer as lyrics for their compositions Most people thought this would be the traditional prayer but this is not the Franz Schubert´s Ave Maria, on Bach/Gounod´s, or Michael Lorenc´s or Ave Maria di Caccini. I know them well because I used to play them when I studied to play the piano. His singing this being a muslim in a country where there are almost no Christians would be completely misunderstood. Dimash did a new one composed by Igor Krutoy and I guess that it started to take form from that featuring in "Love is like a dream. It has not lyrics, it is magic using only one vowel and impressing on it the feeling of that prayer.

Thank you. This is a new composition by Igor Krutoy composed at Dimash's request especially for Dimash. This is not a version of one of the many many other compositions of 'Ave Maria'. This is not a 'Christian' song, but a song for everyone. Dimash is Muslim and Igor is Jewish and this is Dimash channeling the angels for us. Incredibly beautiful.

If I'm not mistaken, this “Ave Maria” by composer and conductor Igor Krutoy is a work in vocalize format, completely unpublished, although it seems to be a variation of the initial theme (not the introduction but the singing part) of the melody by Schubert adapted to Dimash's voice in order to explore just as three initial notes and changing the fourth note to a higher note (From B4, A4 D#4 C#4 and B4 to G#4, G4, G4, D#5): Like a leap from "dark to light" which is the same contrast as Dimash's outfit (from dark to light)! It also seems to refer to the Russian V. Vavilov's version of "Ave Maria" (wrongly credited to Caccine) and work by JS Bach - Prelude No. 1 in C major, BWV 846, with arrangements by Gounod, which Maetro Igor Krutoy has a predilection for!

Igor Krutoy (the gentleman at the piano) composed this version of the Ave Maria at Dimash's request. It's not the Ave Maria you may know. Did you know that there are more than 100 versions of the Ave Maria? Now there is one more. Usually, Ave Maria is a prayer to the Holy Virgin Mary. In this case, however, it is a prayer for all people, no matter what religion they belong to. Besides that Dimash is a Muslim and Igor Kurtoy, who often accompanies him on the piano, is Jewish. That is why this Ave Maria has no lyrics, since it is not only sung for Christians. He sang this song on the New Wave in Sochi, Russia in 2021. This is an international contest for young performers founded by Igor Krutoy in 2002. Dimash sang here as a guest and was also a member of the jury. Igor Krutoy is a famous Russian-Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter. He came out of retirement specifically to work with Dimash when he first heard him. True masterpieces were created. It fills my heart knowing that this connected with you! I didn't expect this song to unearth such strong feelings out of me. My father passed in 2020 and sometimes I feel that I haven't fully dealt with his passing. This performance helped me get closer to my father even though he's no longer with us on earth. Dimash does that to us. He often leaves us: teary, with goosebumps and speechless! His amazing skills and the phenomenal beauty of his voice touches us deeply. You're right; your father would have loved to hear Dimash - but you should know that he does - as his love of music lives on- in you! You owe it to your dad to listen to “Forestella”, a South Korean Quartet, who are probably the best crossover group in the world. They sing everything from opera to pop you will be impressed! A few suggestions to start; Bohemian Rhapsody, Parla Piu Piano, Nella Fantasia, Je suis malade, Spread silk on my heart, Time on a bottle, and on the lighter side, their rendition of Shape of you, by Ed Sheeran, and Despacito. As you can tell, by the titles, they sing in many different languages, always perfectly. I hope you give them a try!

It means so reading these words. It all came from the heart. Dimash's performance helped pull out emotions so deep that I didn't know How much I miss him. I'm not sure how often I will listen to this song because I want to save it for special occasions, when I want to spend time thinking of my father and honoring who he was and what impact he left on my life and others. He had such a passion for music and live concerrs and that greatly influenced my career path. I will forever be grateful to my father and Dimash for reminding me. Thank you for your kind words and for watching 😊
