I think the real villain of the Mario Kart story is whoever organized an esports tournament that pitted 3rd graders against 8th graders in the first place. Asking someone to go easy on you in a competitive tournament is just a really awkward situation to put them in and the fact that Coney thought the storyteller was in the wrong seems like massive copium to me.

In defense of the mk guy, when you're good at mario kart, then it's really hard to be bad (especially since a a certain level you do bagging which is intentionally being in last place to get good items to have in first) and even using objectively bad builds still doesnt mean much given the game is mostly a test of consistency in you lines (that become muscle memory) and track knowledge. Like all honesty dude could have probably not touched the controller for the first 2min of the race and still beat the kid. Also personal opinion, the kid needs to be beat (in mario kart not child abuse!) In order to teach him to practice and get better than just cry for a participation trophy. It would be like if russia cried and made the us stop their space program because we beat russia to the moon but also i grew up when tony hawk was still big and did the 900 indie and seeing him get back up and try again after falling instead of just giving up played a big part in my mind set of this, but he should have at least dropped a ggs at the end instead of givin the kid a cold shoulder but at the same time he was put in an uncomfortable situation and while in middle school (i think i forgot im typing this after watching while video) and probably didnt know how to deal with such a situation. At least he didnt drop a git gud, or a get fucked ya lil shit, if he did then coney made the right reaction

The slip n slide story is crazy because I have a very similar story. I was at a christian summer camp, the first night there they set up an obstacle course for all the campers. There is this one part where you have to roll over this large cylinder thing, I rolled over it wrong and the kid behind me rolled over it too causing the cylinder to roll over my arm and people just kept going over the cylinder crushing my arm. I never saw the kid's face that cause all this and I ended up with a sprained wrist, again this was the 1st night and it complete ruined my experience.
