Can I ask a question please? I tried mate for the first time today. I brewed it in a teapot for about 4-5 minutes and had a mug full, so about 300ml. It made me feel intensely stoned. Is it supposed to do that? It wasn’t your brand btw, I’m in Australia and just bought one off Amazon to try. Unfortunately, being stoned causes issues with my health and I’ve had to stop doing that. The mate caused the same issues! The swimming head, the gushing ears, the racing heart, and I didn’t test it out but I was pretty sure if I’d tried to stay upright much longer I was going to pass out. I’ve just had a 5 hour nap on the couch and feel better now but not quite back to normal yet. It’s such a shame as I was really hoping for health benefits from drinking it, not health problems. I’m certain the caffeine in it wasn’t the issue as I drink coffee every day and today instead of my usual 4-5 coffees I had 3 coffees and one mate, which should be less caffeine than I usually have. Did I do it wrong?
