He couldn't BELIEVE it when he saw this Garden DISASTER!

Have I got a good one for you today! So, a customer contacted me via Facebook and asked me to go around to do a quote on a cleanup for his rental property, as the tenants had left the place in pretty bad shape.
The front was okay, but the back was an absolute disaster. Not only that, he needed it cleaned up as quickly as possible because the place was soon going up for sale.
As always, I try to help where I can, so I pushed a non-urged transformation back a bit, put in extra hours and got the job done. I did charge him for tip fees and a bit extra to be bumped up the list, but ultimately, he was super happy with the result.
I'm also going to look after the place until it sells. All up, we put around 16 hours into this rescue, including 4 trips to the landfill and tip shop.

Q: Where are you located?
A: I am from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘.
Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in over 5 years on the job.
Q: How much do the jobs cost?
A: Sorry, I prefer not to talk about costs.
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of bins?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I would say it's because Australia had a temperate to tropical climate, and therefore it doesn't matter that much if they are outdoors. To me, though, it seems a bit inefficient to have them outside in Tasmania with a temperate climate (coldish for 3 - 4 months per year). But that is industry standard down here 🤷‍♂️
Q: What types of ladders do you use?
A: The large one is a Gorilla Adjustable Platform 150kg and the small one is a Gorilla Mighty 19. They are both adjustable.
Q: Who/what is Jim's Mowing?
A: Jim's Mowing is a franchise business. The Jim's Group is the biggest home services franchise in Australia.
Q: Why do you have 2 channels that seem to be the same?

From the first videos I watched of your work, I developed a fine appreciation of the way you work each section of a job completely before moving on to the next one. This was a fun one to watch with lots of different plants. Perhaps too many man ferns? I loved seeing the bird nests with the baby birds and the eggs. Great job as usual. A lot of the homes down under have an unusual layout. They all don’t make any sense. Maybe a lot were built in the 50s to the 80s. Watch hos other videos of how the older homes look like and they still don’t use dryers because they say the natural air outside dries their clothes. I know several decades ago, people in the U.S. also hung out their laundry to dry in the sun. But dryers are faster and if it rains a lot, where to dry the wet clothes?! Lol…Even though the British people sent prisoners to Australia, a couple of couple or a few centuries ago, Australian homes look more American style homes. Especially the new built homes. Appliance stores are selling more clothes dryers, too. 😁

Those man ferns are amazing. My mom tried to plant one in Tennessee but it wasn’t established enough to make it through the first winter. 😢 The azaleas looks lovely among them. This might be my favorite clean up yet.

It must snow so much where you live to not be able to go outside. It’s really cold where I live, too but I’m glad I still can go outside and enjoy each day, of course I wear a jacket or a coat. I can’t imagine being indoors everyday during the winter. Even when I’ve been to places with a lot of snow, I bundle up, wear snow boots and go for a walk or check out the city or little towns with snow. Fresh air and all the snow looks pretty. During the rain, I just bring my umbrella. Lol.

I must admit, I've never heard Tree Ferns called Man Ferns before. They're usually a tropical rainforest plant, and do like their water down low. Good thing you cleaned off the dead fronds, they look so much better cleaned up. It's a lovely garden when it's cleaned up.

I cannot understand why you don't have 100K subscribers as this is the best yard restoration channel on YT. My wife especially likes yard channels as they inspire her to keep our yard nice as she likes yard work, and I do not. And your is over the top! However, she is always on the edge of her seat when you get out the hedge trimmers or chainsaw. She thinks you are much too aggressive with the trimming. She thought for sure the man ferns were all going to go and the straggling rose bush. Thanks for saving those, she was relieved. I know you live in a milder climate than we do so these harsh trimmings probably don't kill the plants, but we only have about 5 months of good growing weather and not enough time for plants to recover from a harsh trim. They would die in winter. Thanks to you both George and Steve-O and we like the matching shirts.
