Join us today as we leave the farm - Blake makes his first trip by himself with the trailer to the Navajo Reservation - We were a little nervous to send him alone on such a long trip but giving kids hard things to do is good for them and good for the parents! Join us as we buy more horses on the reservation and meet some great friends! Plus, as soon as we get back on the Farm, Blakes starts the horse training process!

Nice horses, good to see Blake out on his own. All he is lacking is experience, and he won't get that sitting on the porch. Mom's got to cut the apron strings and let him run with the Big Dogs. Got his first lesson on GPS this trip, it can get you in trouble. Need to look at a map of where you are going, so you have a general idea of things. Doesn't hurt to know what town also. He sounded like my son when he started out at his age. He told me later in life, that when he was unsure of things he would stop and ask himself "What would Dad do now".

Nice! Good job, Blake, you’re such a hard worker and a true blessing to your family, you look tired, please get the rest you deserve often and in between. Thank you for sharing the videos and for loving our Dine’ people. Due to the drought, other factors and like the elderly lady said, she inherited those horses, couldn’t really care for them much longer, therefore she got in touch with you because she knew you would love and care for them, thank you so much. 🙏🏾❤️🐴😍

Yes, good advice, especially on the Dine’ Rez. There are also a lot if roads mostly dirt, some paved that are not on some maps and GPS for that matter. Make sure of where you’re going before heading out and be prepared with water, shovel, first aid kit, cell phone charger, etc. and what have you. Sometimes flash floods can happen suddenly in some of arroyos and washes, some of the dirt roads can be like washboards. For the most part, our people are kind, willing to help if they know that you can be trusted. I’m sure Alan knows that, he’s been friend to the Dine people for some time now and they accept him for his kindness, sincerity and love for them and the horses. Thank you Alan, Blake and family...🙏🏾🤗
@ggisa4031

@M Dee Yes, supplies for horses, extra tire, tools etc., which I’m sure Alan and Blake have on board just in case. As for cell towers, there are some, but few and far in between, a lot of times with poor signal service in various remote places. During the pandemic, some school and college students had to go to nearby communities to receive signal to do their online studies. Yes, a lot people have had to endure and adapt to a life without the many luxuries that main stream Americans take for granted, like water for instance, it is life and precious to our people. There are some that are doing well though. Thank you for your concern. 😍🤗🐴🙏🏽

Blake did a great job! I don't trust GPS, it has sent me down too many wrong roads/paths. Sent me down a dirt trail in Texas and said to stay on it for 7 miles. LOL!!! I had to backup all the way back to the main road when the trail deteriorated into wash outs. So very bad! Get you some old fashioned maps and keep them in your vehicles. Blake definitely has the love and a way with horses, they do respect him. So happy I found your channel.

The chesnut is left over from when the horse ancestor had four toes. There is also a small growth on the back side of the fetlock, this was also a toe. The last two toes melded together to form the hoof we see today. Needless to say this did not happen over night.

Blake did so well on this hurtle. No matter how high this was for him-your parental hurtle was much higher. Congrats on the great job you and Vicki have done with your children. BTW the new mares and fillies look good. They were well taken care of despite the drought. Think you’ll pick up the local vet and go back for the rogue stud? What a gelding he’d make. He’s really pretty. Blake would finish him quite nicely. Best of luck to Cherry Twist. I know a lot about thoroughbreds since I live a bridge away from Churchill Downs and go to the World Championship of Horses at the Ky St Fair She needs your best stall and air conditioning. She’s not a pasture pony. There’s a reason why Kentucky has black boarded fences in those Bluegrass pastured estates. Come to the Ky St Fair sometime. It’s worth the price of admission just to see the breeders compounds for the horses. Tell Vicki we’ll hang over 400 quilts this year.
