Anime Recap: The story takes place in the Ancient City of Aitheria when the two palace guards, Nikolaus and Hans, have just finished their patrol. Nikolaus suggests the two go to a nearby pub to celebrate their payday. The pub Nikolaus wants to introduce to Hans is Izakaya Nobu, owned by a man named Nobuzaki, but people usually call him Taishou, which refers to "the owner." The two guards step inside, and for the first time in his life, Hans has seen a Japanese-style pub. As usual, Nikolaus asks the waitress, Shinobu, to bring him two draft beers. Hans tries the beer and finishes the big glass in an instant.

@@helperdude8205 nah that was a completely different world. Still good though, I try and look for similar ones but there are none, the closest is the manhwa stories but they aren't that good, mainly because all manhwa suffer from "The story gets worse with more chapters"

The IRL parts ruin the Anime as the actual Anime episodes feel too rushed. It just never feels like it's fleshed out enuf, at least when I watched a few eps.

The irl parts are good for those that want to learn how to make the dishes showcased in the series. I know for fact that some of the dishes shown in the anime are very delicious-looking, and I would want to try those irl if I could get my hands on the ingredients. I do understand though wanting not a cooking tutorial and only the anime. I have skipped the irl parts because I honestly didn’t want to make myself more hungry than what the episodes made me 😹 but seriously. Sometimes, it comes down to preference. To summarize the above, some people who get curious as to how some dishes in anime taste would like to know the recipes behind the dishes, and others would rather just enjoy their entertainment without a lesson afterwards.

@@TheAyanamiRei Understandable. I do know there’s a live action adaptation of the series that the anime could’ve promoted with a “love the dishes shown off in the episode? Check out the live action adaptation to see how they’re made!” But I do disagree that the anime parts weren’t fulfilling in the time they ran for. It was a nice relaxing experience considering so many action-packed anime that’s hitting the air, even when the plot thickened with some tension at the end. It’s more like for me, the anime was so fulfilling for me, it makes me want more because what I already got was amazing, kinda look food lol. But it’s unlikely we’ll get a second season. TwT

the big reason why the Noble little girl like the 1st dish & then the other dish after it is do to the fact the dishes are hot/warm when she & her uncle gets them instead of being cold or near cold do to the teste tester & unknown distance the waiter travel to get there table ,,

0:02 you know a city with a different layout? Is there a strategic reason with walls forming a hexagon, but not a rectangle, square, oval, or circle?

If you look closely at the city’s walls, there’s watchtowers along the walls where the corners meet, and some laid out between. The anime is set in what looks like a medieval possibly fantasy world with how one episode talks of dragons - one customer believing that Taishō and Shinobu had stolen from a dragon to create some of the dishes that the customer got served - and the first two customers we’re greeted by are guards. It makes sense then to believe that the hexagon shape is to keep an eye out for potential threats, both mundane and mystical. A hexagon shape with that many towers would do better than a circle or other shape to keep an eye on outside of the city, as there’s more coverage. That, and a circle wall wouldn’t do well with metal gates. A square would do better, because the walls aren’t rounded but straight, but it’s still a lack of sight-coverage.

this anime is great, for a single reason... well, besides thats its just "everyday food for isekai people of the past" i mean, food of today, that you may eat everyday, may have been royalty food, think about it, spices from all around the world, fruits out of season right here, not to think that many fruits today are PEAk grade fruits (watermelons 500 years ago were waaaay different, lets not speak about watermelons of Egypt, the first one, the size of a tenis ball and bitter) Meat so soft and well preserved, so many ways to cook it and more important than anything, super healthy... hell, im sure even place with unsanitary food like India streets are way more healthy than whatever "regular" people ate in the past...

The problem with this anime is that they decided to cut time from the actual stories featured in the episodes to shoehorn in a bit of a Japanese foodie going around Tokyo to try dishes featured in the episode, which was... Eh, just bad. So, they'd effectively killed it after one unsatisfactory season, whereas the manga and LN are quite good by trying to force a gimmick. So, corporate shills have done Noby dirty.

I liked this anime but while it’s a similar to “Restaurant to Another World,” it’s not as good. In that anime everyone knows they’re in another world. Here it’s a bit too easy where all the customer just accept everything and question nothing. They never wonder about the low costs, where they get the ingredients that people have never seen before considering they almost never go outside, or even where chef and waitress go after closing. Anyway small criticism for an interesting one indeed.
