Very few punches in Round 2 from either fighter that actually land and the only significant strike in Round 2 is a right straight from Palomino while he changes levels. The camera doesn't have a clean angle on it but the pace of the fight for the rest of that round changes since it hurt Nguyen. Pick any round and actually look at what's going on.

I am on the fence about it, I see your point that he was a bit more active but that did not equate to damage, you can out punch your opponent but if the majority of those punches are not landing because of being blocked but the other fighter throws less and does more damage, who really won, can't you equally say the the fighter with better defense and made his shots count won? does activity really win a fight? I know it helps but the point system is not all about activity. I am not saying you are wrong, however, Dats face at the end of the fight certainly looked like he took more shots than Luis. We all have our opinions, just like when I thought Pacquiao won when he fought Mayweather, most people I talked to thought Mayweather won, I bring this example up because Mayweather is a great defensive fighter. I guess all that really matters is who has their arm raised at the end.

Dat was wild and aggressive but could not create his own shot; two or three trash under powered strikes that creates an opening for a "clean" heavy strike. Palomino clench work was extra slimy too and their were clean audible counters landed that could have won a 50/50 round.

Yeah he fought cautious and scared until that final sequence. He said he was concerned about trading with Dat before the fight so tried to use his reach from the outside. He had more power though being two weight classes above which was probably the deciding factor in the match. But Dat landed many more shots, used more combinations, and just had generally higher boxing IQ. If he puts on healthy weight to move up permanently, he would definitely overcome Palomino.
