Gosh that was masterful again... Side note, noone around me to hear your stream, but I still appreciate the PG language very much, because I simply think it's nice. It goes very well with what I believe is the spirit of your channel, not catering to the audience but being still open to all and allow everyone to have a nice peaceful time watching all those units slaughter each other! I have no problem with swearing but it becomes a weird society when we have to "defend" not swearing anyway! You set up a positive example that it's not necessary everywhere. I find sad that some rationalize swearing with the argument that kids know and use all swears imaginable anyway. Then why dont we all just swear anywhere and anytime...

I really love Phosphoru's strats. They're so fun to watch, because you know someone on the other end is not having a good day lol I hesitate to call him a troll because what he's doing is very involved and it expresses an entirely different way of playing the game that most people are not happy with. Which sounds like trolling but it's really not. It's a great style with a lot of theorycrafting and practice put into it.

Man it would be so based if Phosphoru grinded and got to pro level. If he got a lot better at meta play he would be a very interesting player.

He's admitted he doesn't have the skill level - which is more than just grinding, not everyone can really achieve the same level just through hard work.
@giantWario5 ай бұрын
I think if he got better at meta play he'd actually get worse. As T90 said at the end, Phosphoru's build actually requires a lot of grinding and training already, being good at that and being good at meta at the same time would be extremely hard. Simply being able to add eco in Castle Age like Phosphoru has started to do is already a massive improvement that I think could eventually lead to good tournament results.
@innertuber40495 ай бұрын

@@giantWario I don't think he'd get worse in the long run. Adding vills and farms is an example of him "learning meta play," and as you said, it's going a long way. He just needs those skills for when things go South. He totally could've won game 4 if he were a little more solid in the basics.

I unashamedly love watching Phosphoru play, and honestly think they fill an important role in online play. Yeah, they do a lot of meme and horribly annoying strats, but those serve to illustrate oversights in unit balance that might not be spotted by more 'meta' players, they give the devs more material to work with when designing and balancing.

Phosporu has been very open that most of his strongest tactics have been using unique units that use wood and gold. Without upgrades wood is collected at 23.4 per min vs farms 19.2 per min. You receive about 22% more resources which allow snowballing with these units (war wagon, ratha, organ guns, etc) Most of these are newer units and it appears the game designers did not realize how it could be exploited. Either these units need to have their wood raised to create units or to lower the wood production rates. Hera has been covering this and quite a few players are seeing it often and either the aggressor quits quickly if they come under pressure or get overwhelmed. Neither being fun to play against all the time. Now there are plenty of aggressive strats which have been around forever like goth spam, or FC Khmer knight rush, etc. the difference is slow gathering food vs wood.

THANK YOU for keeping it professional and entertaining at the same time. "Orcs and trolls spoke as they would, Without any love of words or things; And their language was actually more degraded and filthy than I have shown it. I do not suppose that any will wish for a closer rendering, though models are easy to find. Much of the same sort of talk can still be heard among the orc-minded: Dreary and repetitive with hatred and contempt, Too long removed from good to retain even verbal vigour, Save in the ears of those to whom only the squalid sounds strong." The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, Appendix F: "On Translation" J.R.R Tolkien Even Solomon made a mention....... [Pro 4:20-27 NLT]

I for one appreciate you trying to keep it clean (as long as The Viper isn't losing a mass of longbows to SOs). The gaming community has become overrun with fame seekers and gold diggers who use filthy and disgusting language and don't really care about the community, and then the younger gamers think that's how they need to act. We used to just be a bunch of nerds who didn't fit with pop culture and liked escaping in games together. I miss those days, but at least there are still some T90s.

You cursing all the time would get old quickly and turn some of your 'strategic' commentary into mental mush. I always thought Ratha were fine. They just needed small quality of life improvements, like being able to pick which mode it came out of the castle in for example.
