so 3 vils repairing a tc is 18 vils on wood (source: Twest), the first one repairs more so it does not scale linearly, but it remains expensive af. It is cheaper to just rebuild one, especially considering that you had the stone and the tc did not have enough health to garrison. Kinda hard to make that decision in the moment, but letting it go right after reaching imp would have been the batter call

It’s hard hitting single tiles with a trebuchet. Yes, could’ve been nice to try, but you could get 2 guaranteed shots on the castle in the time you wasted missing the mango. Trebuchets usually miss like 2 shots on single tiles before actually hitting unless you upgrade accuracy

IMO if you are playing arena vs the mayans as Burgundians, you are always going to have a better eco than them, and so the only way they can hurt you is by castle dropping you. Especially since that then feeds into plumes (with older players like Tatoh feeling super comfortable with an FC-plume build) so you should probably play like Vivi or Yo and go FC castle yourself, so that you can make Coustillier for map control, and it protects you from being castle dropped

At 12:35 you could have used the treb to first take out his mangonel and saved yourself some time while he has to replace that. It would also have made him unable to effectively dive with the plums as the TC would have been too strong. Still decent effort aginst that micro I doub't you'd have been able to recover regardless.

It's strange how on nearly 100% of games I've lost I never bothered to research supplies. Honestly, it should be a general tech, not just for one unit. That way the name makes sense.

I think you can not deny the castle but the damadge control could have been better. I also think that ideally you dont want to repear the tc after you are imp. Just wall behind and put your vills somewhere safe. In that way you can produce trebs and maybe 1/2 bbc. With that you should be able to hold. He has nothing to snipe siege so you slowly add skirms and push out.

It's crazy to me. That you "pros" resign so early. Sure your under alot of pressure but in a game where either player can gain an advantage seemingly out of nowhere... like.. play it out a bit. I'm not saying hide a villager and make him defeat you but even if it's 80/20... like 20% odds hit a lot

Mistakes: 1. Adding a TC despite knowing you're getting All-In'ed. Especially considering how safely Burg win this match up once they reach chemistry. Besides that, why would you need another TC, Mayans are known to desperately go 1 TC on this map (with their awful mid-game eco) you already had all eco techs. It was just meta-minded move. 2. Obsession about relics. No idea why. Unable to understand your unique win condition. Even with 5v0 relics Mayans cant win Burg late game. The game was lost at this point basically.

Never before had I heard relics mentioned as much. I see their value but on these maps you know you either put boom and hold or you all in and no eco

No. It's not just a superior civ based on "purely economic reasons". It's one of the most one sided civ wins out there. A bottom 3 vs a top 3 civ. Civ design in AOE is painfully awful, Burgundians are broken in so many metrics on closed maps, and I'm not even referring about the Flemish nonsense that should be removed, but we seem to helplessly cope with it.

T90 talks a big game in his thought process but really he's not as good as he makes out. He had so many chances to do damage with the light cav early on those vils as they came forward but kept circling for... some reason? You could have stopped the castle if you had just got in the way of those vills.
