The fact that he gave so many interviews before his arrest will really help the prosecutors here. Yes, everything he said during those interviews can and almost certainly will be used by the prosecution - "anything you say can be used against you" doesn't just apply if you're in an interrogating room. They gave him plenty of rope and he hanged himself.

I know a lot of people have been wondering why it took so "long" but this honestly is a really fast response considering federal charges usually take a really long time as they only charge when they basically have the case already air tight, which usually takes a lot of time. The feds usually aren't fast but they are inevitible on stuff like this so to see them get him in just a few weeks shows how much he was probably screwing himself with all these interviews where he literally admitted to illegal activity. SBF basically did the feds job for them with as stupid as his PR thing was.

The guy at 8:03 was (emphasis on was) the co-host to the first Twitter space Coffeezilla ambushed SBF at. When San was making excuses to leave once Coffee was pressing him with harder questions, Neuner said something along the lines of "It's okay Sam, we know/I'm sure you're trying your best and have good intentions". Though he missed out on who said it, this made Coffeezilla launch a scathing rant against the idea of letting SBF off the hook so easily and that his only "intention" is to avoid jailtime. It's cut out from his video of the first two interviews since it'd be preaching to the choir, but it truly shows him as one of the few sane voices involved in this mess. Shortly after, the dude running that specific Twitter space sought a new co-host due to Ran's biases.

@SalKhayer Жыл бұрын
@@WAVE0025 Not entirely sure what deal Caroline (Harry Potter fan) struck with the DoJ, but I'd assume given that it was her, Sam Trabucco, and SBF who co-ran Alameda and FTX, they were just waiting on one to snitch on the others to add to the evidence they already collected. Could be full immunity, or could be that Caroline (Harry Potter fan) gets a lighter sentence in a more comfy prison cell or even house arrest with no financial dealings for the rest of her life.

SBF in his Lawyers office like: SBF: “I admitted to committing fraud on camera!” Lawyer: “Ok this looks bad but we can get through this. We’ll get you laid low, we’ll find a place to hide you out maybe argenti- what the fuck are you doing?” SBF: “Oh I’m just live tweeting this conversation.”
@guyanomaly Жыл бұрын
I feel/hope that the length of time from the collapse to the arrest was probably just authorities making sure they had a rock-solid case before arresting him. If they’d gone public about their investigation right away it might’ve scared SBF into silence, but since that wasn’t the case, they have a ton of stuff that they can use to incriminate him. Like how in police interrogations they just start by letting you talk uninterrupted about your version of events so that they can turn that around on you in court later. Obviously I have no idea if this was actually their strategy, but if it was, seems like it worked.
@guyanomaly Жыл бұрын
I’m not usually one to stick up for the authorities, but I think in this case, given the weight of this, if they’d arrested him before they had an ironclad case against him, he might have been able to temporarily worm his way out at least for enough time to flee/unalive himself.
@fogcat5 Жыл бұрын
maybe more arrests in the near future - there were photos of Caroline at a coffeeshop just a few days ago. She may have a deal with the prosecutors sharing all her texts and other incriminating info. Otherwise I would expect she would be in custody as a lead of the fraudulent transactions going on
@TuShan18 Жыл бұрын
The police, fbi, and other investigators need to take all the time that’s needed to ensure that without a shadow of a doubt, this guy did something bad. They also need to compile all the evidence possible to convict him, and ensure he goes to jail. Maybe it takes weeks, maybe it takes months, but in theory, that’s what the investigators are supposed to do. I like to think they stayed radio silent because of all his interviews. They were looking for every slip up and admission of guilt they could.
