Great Ficus, so can we repot a ficus anytime of a year if we see the signs? I have a 3 ficus benjamina in one nursery pot with bad soil. They grow vigorously. Should I repot them? Ps. I want to fuse them together and I think they will need severe root cuts.

Ficus is growing all the time but will have small pauses in the hottest months of summer. With Benjamina you need to be careful not to prune to hard on the roots and don't defoliate them completely, they are somewhat sensitive. Repott them with non-clump catlitter / diatomite. It's cheap, will last pretty long, will hold and release moisture like a boss. You wanna go luxury? Get Akadama, Lava Rock & Pumice. Costs more, looks better, does the job very good, especially lava rock which also i re-usable.

I'll never forget my first online bonsai purchase I didn't understand that age normally means you're buying a large tree bought a 89yr old Chinese Elm didn't expect to receive a tree that weighed 64 pound's and stood up to the lower portion of my hip I'm 6ft1in so yeah pretty big elm and yes It's still alive and well she's turning 100yrs old this year so big mile stone Edit: Yes it cost a pretty penny but to be honest with you there's nothing like caring for a tree that's older then you are it's a humbling task and well worth.

Hi Johan, like this vidéo on how you Got started. I Was wondering What kind of soil you use for a ficus tree and if you had a vidéo on bonsai soil as it is expensive to but in nursery stores
