That show might be the funniest thing I’ve ever seen. The jokes are great but the context and actual bravery to do what he did is amazing. IMO this launched Ricky up to Lenny Bruce, Bill Hicks and George Carlin levels of legendary comedy.

You should watch the original British Office, created by Ricky Gervais. You'll see the beginning of many aspects you like about the American version, and there are only a few 6 episode seasons. Especially good are the outtakes.

So many people don’t even realize that they try to normalize abhorrent behavior through their messaging. This was a real eye opening event. I never watched Sophie’s choice so I didn’t get the reference the first few times I watched. But I recently found out the movie is centered around her choosing which child will live and which will die. I can’t remember the context, if they were hostages or something. But she was told she had to choose which child they would kill and if she didn’t choose then they would all die. So his joke is literally that the sequel is Meryl Streep being like “eff it, kill that one who cares?” 😂 Ricky never holds back on the unsettling jokes.
