If you watch the entire show even from a Christian standpoint he proved himself and God himself allowed him to be "god" because he proved he wasn't evil or wicked or anything of the sort. He was proud and had aspirations to ascend to the holies of holies and be equal God. Using the Devil's personality like this is contracting and brings confusion. Read your Bible well. We are all gods BUT CAN NEVER be greater than the one True God.
