Just wanted to add to this discussion. Alastor seems so Cool because he has a method for maintaining the facade of control. He seems based on the personality disorder narcissism or more likely closeted narcissism. This is my opinion though, not sure if this stacks up to others. He uses charisma, a smile and the idea that he can maintain his composure while riling up others to boost his ego. I love alastor, and narcissists are not inherently bad, nor is anyone with a personality disorder.
