Plenty of people yell at Neon, but she seems like a victim. She got spoiled and isolated so much that she has absolutely no idea of how dangerous the world is and has a "subjective" conception of good and evil. Yeah, she doesn't realize that people are risking their life for her and that other people might want to kill her for different reasons because her father wants her sheltered and dependent of him. But yes, she did something really stupid. And welcome to the Chrollo fanclub.

I would get an anime detection claim not a claim for the song itself. :) that’s why audio cutting is very strange and even without just music sometimes dialogue and sound effects need to be cut. Even though anime studios share sound effect packs

This is one of the episodes that I personally feel is better in the English Dub than the Japanese with Subtitles. I think the Poem/prophecy is much clearer and also more intriguing, and I think many of Chrollo's lines are more clear to and English-speaking audience than the subtitles for the Japanese are.

13:07 It's always funny to me when English-speaking reactors confuse subtitles with dialogue. Here, for example, the subtitles said melody because they were translating the word in Japanese, but Alicia forgot that the character's name is Melody (the characters pronounce the name in English) and immediately jumped to the conclusion that the verse had something to do with the character. PS: I'm not criticizing, I simply find this phenomenon interesting, because it is so common that people forget the context and I wanted to point it out

While I don’t think she thought about the fact that they didn’t actually say the word Melody, I doubt she actually thinks the verse has something to do with Melody.

The thing is, Melody‘s name is Senritsu in Japan. And he also reads the word senritsu. Her name is never pronounced as Merodii in the Japanese dub because that’s not how her name is.

I know you like to rag on Neon for being insensitive, but I don't think she's ever told what's really going on. Just that the auction is canceled or that they have to move her for safety reasons

She was told that her bodyguard (Whom she has known for years) is dead. Her response is "but we can still go to the auction right???" or somewhere along this line. Yeah she has no emphaty to others' suffering so as long she gets what she wants

@@iampotsataja She probably values her handmaids and just them, because she spends so much time with them, shopping with them, talking to them and so on. The bodyguards, in comparison, are just...there, protecting her from a distance. There's less emotional attachment. That's how I'd interpret it, at least.

Thanks for this reaction. You may already be ahead to it, but more than any other scene, the aftermath of this with Kurapika, is one where it would be really cool for you to compare the 99 & 11 versions, even if only a screenshot. The difference really encapsulates what Togashi was going for with that adaptation.
