Liability. It's not a matter of quality of security. It's a matter of when their contracts authorize them to make physical contact with someone. If a mistake is made and they stop someone who wasn't actually rushing the stage (or claims they weren't), then you've got a lawsuit on your hands.

Let me put all these ideas together: So next game awards, it's scripted that a guy runs on stage. As they run up, staff in the crowd start a big reaction with booing. The guy is scripted to say the most awkward and cringey thing ever. Then a security guard comes on stage, turns out to be The Rock, suplexes them and performs a promo, thereby insulting them as they are escorted off stage in shame Fellas, we just made the best future game awards ever

MAN I love gamescom, I went every year for 3 years until covid started and it's the only convention I ever attended until i went to animagic a few weeks ago, and I wanted to go so badly this year but my friend and I waited to long to plan and when another friend asked me spontaneously if I wanted to go today tickets were sold out, I'm so freaking sad. But me and my friend already decided next year we'll take some friends, get tickets for multiple days and get an airbnb together, which is gonna rule, so I'm very exited for that!

Gamescon didn’t really hit for me personally. AK-xolotl, persona 3 reload and Alan Wake 2 were really awesome but everything else wasn’t really my thing. If you feel differently thats fine but man I wish we still had E3

@@moonkoto yeah but again the only difference is that now you go to a few conventions. I can see how like 1 giant convention is cool and I miss that part. Most things I have seen online and I see it in this comment too is like "most games in showcases don't appeal to me I wish we were back at E3" and that is the part I have a problem with. Going back looking at E3 there were still a bunch of sleeper games but also everyone was younger, if they were kids they probably didn't have as much responsibility. It is nostalgia. What I dislike is that I feel like people write off a bunch of different games and say "well this conference isn't even as good as E3" even coney skips around and his whole job is literally game commentary. I think just because we don't have one big conference doesn't mean people should write off every showcase from now on. I know the strawman I made is probably not your opinion or even op's opinion but it is an opinion I see very often online.
