Tbh Nintendo RPG's feel so sluggish I can't blame him. I played Fire Red and Paper Mario TTYD again after years and I can barely play it without the speed up button compared to any Final Fantasy game (besides 12) where I am fully immersed and actually enjoy it. Mario RPG is fun though I can say that but holy hell Nintendo RPGs feel like I'll die of old age while playing, and truly the worst part is I will think I played for like 4 hours but in reality its been like 40 minutes to and hour lol.

10:30 fun fact about buzz light-year to the rescue. It was my very first game and it was localized in my language. So having zero clue of what "load game" ment, my 7 years old self went on doing "new game" everytime I played. I ended up thinking videogames were really ment to be played from the start everytime and it was my goal to get as far as possible during my one hour game session (my mom wouldn't allow more). Y and Z switch places between QWERTZ And QWERTY layout. Maybe that way you can "free" your button from the block. (Depends on if the game recognizes the change and switches with it)

Honestly I agree with Coney on Palworld. Game is great fun in a goofy way, especially in co-op but it also gets insanely grindy. Especially when you're making your bases more efficient and getting the right Pals. Game honestly is very funny though, one of my favourite co-op experiences this year next to Ale & Tale Tavern.

i'm a little bit disappointed that ANIMAL WELL wasn't higher because i think that was my game of the year, but i get your reasoning that it is kind of an "ask around online to figure out this mysterious ARG puzzle that no one person could ever figure out on their own" game. but UFO 50 definitely deserves to be up there and although i have not yet played it I seriously hope that Balatro wins game of the year just to see the shockwaves that will happen throughout the entire industry.

I think animal well is my GOTY, personally. There’s some stuff you need to work with people to find but if you love the pure exploration enough, you can find all the eggs and then some on your own. Plus the sound design & artistry are top tier!

I've only played Balatro and Rivals out of those 5, but you absolutely sold me on trying Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom and UFO 50 (and sure maybe FF7 someday).

The fact that Coney remembers nothing of either Blasphemous is baffling to me, even though I've seen enough of his opinions that it probably shouldn't be. The sequel is definitely in my top 5 metroidvanias. My personal GOTY is probably Lorelei and the Laser Eyes. Even though they're very different, in a weird way I felt I got a lot out of it that I was expecting to get from Animal Well (a game that I was somewhat disappointed by).

Hey Coney. I felt the same with Mine Sols at the start, but holy shit it gets amazing after the first boss. 100% would recommend picking it up again and continuing it's one of my favorite games this year.

I'm at the true ending final boss right now, and yeah, it's a lot of fun. All the chinese mythology is kinda lost on me, and the story is ok, though I wish the boss characters got more time. My one complaint is that some bosses have so much parrying where you can't respond, and you never get an opportunity to cash out on your qi.

There is the like water jade that allows you to apply your Qi without risking getting hit. It just deals less damage and takes time after applying it. I personally used the charge attack jade which empowered charge attacks but uses Qi, so that was a fun way. Plus I found on all bosses I could get a 3 charge Qi attack and on most a 5 Qi Charge attack. Swapping up jades is super critical to adapting to new bosses and helps a lot on specific bosses. For twins phase 2 I mostly gave up on trying fully charged Qi attacks and did charge attacks with the previously mentioned Jade.
