I used to work for a guy who owned a big horse farm and he had a contractor doing some concrete work with lots of hills & paths and stuff in front of his deluxe horse barn. This guy had a tiny Bobcat skid-steer loader and he would do the "balance on two wheels" thing to turn around in tight quarters. He was so awesome with that thing that he would balance on two wheels and have conversations with his workers. Everyone would just stop working and watch the guy work. He was impressive. Just like this hillbilly dude here!

Half load ya bucket with some ballast before you try, You can control the height of your backs wheels with ballast as counter weight at first. Once you got that down start using the trust to get on the 2 wheels, I worked in a foundry for 6 years as my first job had to get pretty good with a bobcat the metal stores was tiny, I remember my first day being told "Forget everything the instructor said" Moving live loads of molten metal with a busted old forklift was also a lot of fun at times

Jake a SAFETY WARNING BUDDY! If there's a even slight sprinkle while your on those steel rails, they will become slicker than ice, to those rubber skid steer tires. Weld some sort of safety traction to those rail surfaces, that will prevent those rubber tires from slipping. 3/8 inch rebar laid across and spaced about an inch apart or short 3/8 inch pieces of bolts, tracked on straight up in lines across the rail, or anything that will stop those tires from slipping on a smooth damp steel surface. Just one tire spin and your going over big time my friend. Traction on those rails is a necessity and if your tires ever do get wet, then you can continue on as planned and not end up wedged between the rails sideways! Put some on those climbing platforms also. Be safe. I love what your doing. Hope I get to see you preform some day! Take care. Jpol

There are operators then there operators. Few and far between. It's like grading. Some people have a natural eye and to put that with a talent for running equipment is extraordinary. Seen guys dig a cellar hole within 1/2 to 1/4 inch with no transit or level. Truly masters. Watch look and most importantly, listen. Hopefully they may tell you some of their secrets. But you gotta have the feel. Know your machine. Don't be complacent on repairs and maintenance especially. Mechanical failures alway happen at the worst time. Best case scenario you lose money on the job. Worst case someone is injured or dead. I ramble. Truly a great video. And utmost respect as an operator for his talents. Thanks for sharing

Somebody needs to put some gyroscopes in one of those (like a Segway), and then regular humans could drive them on two wheels too. The way Jake explains it, being able to run on two wheels is very practical. A skid loader that was designed to do it would be amazing!

It's been years since I drove a Bobcat, but I remember something that is fun to watch is a new driver in one with pneumatic tires bouncing all over the place. All you have to do is to let go of the sticks and it stops. I would tell them after a while. Of course something that everyone has done is dump the load on themselves when raising it high and not tilting down at the same time.

This guy is groovy!!! minus the Fair's and Rodeos I used all the same techniques for work and fun when I was equipment operator on an erosion control barge (large WW2 landing craft) plus add ice skating technique due to the fact the barge still had it's gun wall's in place each time you backed on to the boat, bucket had to be over 7' in the air to clear walls and you use the wet steel deck to perform a " skidsteer ballet " that to me was the most entertaining part the 2 wheel work was just necessity but also pretty entertaining.I can see people wanting to pay to see this at the Fair because I could always draw a crowd just playing in the parking lot of the marina . He's right about the hyd. over hyd. much mo better ( love me a New Holland) besides when I first started using Caterpillar ( elec. over hyd. ) I would get in and shove both joysticks forward to move and for some reason the bucket would hit the ground??? Even after I became Captain of the barge I always taught my equipment operator to drive the boat a lot less mundane to operate the skidsteer .... Thanks Stanley I always appreciate seeing an excellent equipment operator!!!!!
