If you think Guts isn't superhuman, you haven't been paying attention. He uses a sword that's at least 30-40lbs during the Golden Age Arc and swings it faster than regular people can swing regular swords, he is beyond human.

@@seenreboot5244 I believe the publishers released a final chapter "posthumous" for the manga, but we'll never really know how Miura truly wanted to end the story. As for the anime i believe it's dead in the water now afik but i could be wrong

Actually it wasn't just a beast, it was a whole warband of apostles I think... but yeah, that'd be odd because I think when it cuts to them they're literally talking about the village they just raped their way through and left the women and children dying in burning buildings afterwards, or something close to that. Basically just a " This person is really evil. Listen to this. " kind of thing.

9:53 I forgot the exact words, but Griffith is employing a battle tactic laid out by Sun Tzu. It goes something like this ~ If you're going up against a superior enemy, and you can't afford your army to run before a battle or due to a morale break, put YOUR army's back against the wall or corner (A River in Griffith's case) and let them know they can't run or hide, it's fight or die, because if your soldiers know they can't run random acts of heroism will be forced out of your troops slightly increasing the chances of you winning OR causing significantly more damage to the enemy's army before you're annihilated. Again these are not the exact wording, I'm sure someone can correct me later.

I'd like to think Guts warming Casca up was his blockheaded mind remembering what she was made to do for him when Griffith first "bought" guts. (Also reminding that he had to fight for his freedom like how they first met) Also, although it wasn't mentioned in this video, Gennon was the one responsible for sponsoring band of the Hawk to become what it is today. Griffith postituted himself to Gennon before, and he knew that he could use Gennon's lust to throw all logic and proper military command out of the window. Also the river or die trick is a pretty good one on Griffith's part, it was kinda both a psychological thing to his enemies and his allies. - His allies knew that Griffith is likely lead them to victory, and well, as Sun Tzu says "fighting with the courage of despair." - His enemies would that, like all the rest, the Hawk will probably lose again and they got them surrounded, so pretty much a happy day for them. Also, I would like to think, although I have no basis for this, that the people with him initially at the front were the more or less settled Hawk members that he fully trusts, and the people at the back were either Midland's backup or some of the stragglers who joined in much later.

Well as far as fights back then go most were decided in the first few minutes and ended up being more about who broke first than how many died, burning ships and having backs to the walls was more or less a fight to the last as you can't run unless you want to drown.

Considering his impossible sword and ability to cut smash through plate armor then it is not surprising even if he took 1000 or 10,000 if Arches are not available. I remember there was only 1 or 2 with a crossbow. Thus it is should not be hard or a big deal , for Guts. Even in real life (if no plate armor and no range weapons) it is not impossible with weapons and shilds involved to defeat 100 especially when you keep moving around and trying to get 2 or 3 at once alone a group by group one by one fight especially if they are not professionals. For someone of Guts size and muscles, 2.2m and at lest 140kg with 12ish % bodyfat and he has mobility and think he is capable to do flexible things. With all that he has a long weapon it is a very deadly combination. The area where this fight happened also is helpful as there alot of trees and it is not flat. He basically kept running away and they kept following him in an unorganized way. Also they and he did not allow them to surround him. Also very few had shields and spires with them. If they attacked him from many directions at once like 20 or 10 of them together with others behind them kept going he would stand no chance. They also where scared from him and didn't make moves as a group on him quick which made them as if they are less in numbers. This fight is not as hard as you might think. It is not impossible even in real life (considering everyone light armor ).

You can't forget the weight of the sword and it doesn't matter how tall he is, there's a reason marathon runners aren't 140 kilo 6 ft 5 inch monsters, his heart would have a hard time keeping up the pace to kill 100 men. Let me guess 1 swing of his sword would take out 5 or 6 guys at a time 😂😂
