The Stranger and Lo Lang are actually both non-Asians. This is shown as the Samurai/Japanese has lost their way and it was two foreigner who had more honor than they did. This is also shown with the monk who sold the boy. The old man who was going to sellout the Stranger and the boy. Finally the Shogun who betrayed his Lord and fought to secure his own rule.
