as a birder, i in some ways respect what he is doing because i do think that he genuinely just loves birds and wants to show people. with that said, what he is doing is pretty clearly unethical and against the birding code of conduct. it’s not at all that we have to treat nature as a holy sanctuary and be completely silent, but playing these calls constantly is definitely going to have an effect on bird behavior. as observers we have a duty to interfere with their lives as little as possible.

I understand why he’s calling the birds, yet he’s stressing them out. He sometimes has an advantage and wants to prove other birdspotters that what he does benefits his “spotting” over others. He gained a following which makes him blindsighted and continues him to act out of boundaries so to say.

I live with and study birds. This man's behavior makes him not only a nuisance but also a detriment to the movement on the whole. It seems to me as though he cares less about ornithology/birding/twitching, and more about being at the center of attention as he flits around the park like the deranged weirdo that he is.

@@charliethecockatoo2159 A year later lol Still glad to hear. Is the aggression in cockatoos more focused on partners or kids of the primary owner or more generalised? From what I've seen in cockatoos (I work in rescue, rarely birds though), they seem to become aggressive when a new person enters their environment. Also, do you think that the aggression is due to irresponsible breeders (I know this can strongly be the case in dogs) or simply a risk when keeping large parrots in general?

Glad this video was recommended to me. Heard about Bob and wouldve attended one of his walks. Not 2 mins into the video and I'm already annoyed at how this guy does birding. I started getting into birding with the Brooklyn Bird Club during the spring migration. Dennis who guide the walks in Prospect Park just watch and listens. Once in awhile he'll play a short recording of a bird he might have heard and ask us if we can hear but its very rare. This guy is like a bat. And the best part is it's free. Just gotta show up at 7:30am with your binocular and/or camera. Looking forward to the fall migration!

Hello The Eternal One says to you in Jer 29:11,12 : "For I know the thoughts that I have concerning you, saith the Lord; thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you the end you hope for. Then ye shall call upon me, and you will go, and you will pray to me, and I will hear you.” Circumstances, traumas and even opposing voices, at times, want to make us believe that there is no way, that we will not make it or even that we are worthless. Choose to listen and live God's words and plans for you. In Christ we are new creatures, beloved children designed for his praise. Believe. Pray. Read the Bible. Be prepared as JESUS IS COMING BACK. Peace of Jesus. From Brazil.🙋🌷🌺🌹
