yes and no, they were closed because of the horrible treatment of the ill, and the worst of that treatment, persists. I have experienced all kind of horrors from "therapy" and at this point the only problems that hurt me day to day life, are all scars from therapists. Since 1st grade I had been overmedicated to the point that I was prescribed 6 times the lethal does for a adult (was not even a teen yet) do to the amount of tolerance built up. I was put in a mental ward do to a allergic reaction causing mussel spasms and tearing, was r worded in said ward while sedated. The list goes on. But despite all that, I am now more stable than ever, able to live on my own and make a living doing online coding work, and that is without medication that oops was actually stunting my mental growth and hindering me the whole time causing the problems. Now I have only one thing hurting me still, the trauma of the way doctors talked to me, out of all that I listed it may seem like such a mild thing, but when doctors talk down to you, twist everything you say to their narrative, nothing makes you feel more helpless, isolated and alone. Not matter how sane you are, they can declare you insane. This is the real horror of the asylums, it further isolates, it mean no one checks on what the doctors claimed a patients state was. It was simple for them to pretty much just abduct someone claim they were insane and then treat them horribly till they could be passed off as such. This powerlessness is a trauma that they instilled makes me constantly have to tell my self that my anxiety and paranoia that I will always be told I am wrong no matter what, that I will always be grouped up on, is just that, paranoia. Its like living on the edge of a panic attack at all times, and the only thing keeping it in check is holding onto logic and keeping awareness of the cause of it all, ignorance, laziness and conceit, a doctor that saw dozens of cases a day and never second guessed themselves, they had to always be right, and to fill that need, they drugged, cornered and silenced the children that they saw, only talking to the parents and scaring them into never believing their own children. And a asylum is even worse, there they hold absolute power over the most vulnerable of people. Now this all said we do need some form of containment, but before that we have to correct how doctors treat patients, the power dynamic and how powerless you are against them is just far to much, you become absolutely voiceless, your body a weapon against you do to drugs, your mind leashed. I have been asked many times how I can keep going, and its spite, its all I can do is prove them wrong, its not ideal, but its somthing to hold onto. That and that maybe I can prevent others from suffering the same by raising awareness. Though that part is never going to be enough seeing as the doctor who did all this now teaches in a collage as a celebrated and respected practitioner of the field. Not for her accomplishments, but become she is a women in a "hostile" field, as if most parents don't prefer female doctors for kids.

My deepest sympathies to anyone who is forced to deal with a schizophrenic or otherwise mentally ill relative. It's purely hell. Schizophrenia can really make anyone into an awful (or further awful) person, and the problem with Schizophrenics (as is with Borderline, Bipolar...) is noncompliance with treatment. Listen to and trust your doctors, no matter how hard it is to do so; nothing will change if you don't work with them. That said, it doesn't corrupt everyone. My father was schizophrenic; became completely paranoid, hostile, and even violent, after which he abandoned us. I always knew who he was, and I always saw that when I did see him, but looking back I can see when he was taking his meds. It hasn't corrupted me; I stuck with the meds, and once they start working EVERYONE notices! Some of us are just bad people no matter how you frame it, but some of us are really trying to be good people: we want normal lives too! It's possible, but compliance is the only way.

Did they have an actual tazer or just some stun gun? I ask because they are often confused. Almost all stun guns are close to worthless while tazers tend to be much more effective. Pepper spray is good stuff, some better than others.
@DXT612 ай бұрын
@@helloneighbor11 I'm betting stun gun. Ive had both. That spray lasts longer but a solid connection with a taser is pure hell. This fellow has to be a mental to take all that.

@@DXT61 that was my guess as well. The odds of the whole group of those boys laughing off an actual taser is slim. Some guys seem to be able to handle it, some guys drop like a rock. That coat he was wearing may have helped as well.
