On April 15, 2023, police monitoring parking ramp cameras observed people blocking stairwells with belongings in La Crosse, WI. They eventually encountered a woman screaming from an elevator, where she attempted to use drugs upon seeing the officers. During her arrest, she resisted, smearing the drugs in the officer's face, and ingested them to prevent confiscation. Following the arrest, the officers noticed that both their gloves and the woman were damp, with surveillance footage later unveiling the reason for this.

Those were mostly targeting weed, which was stupud because weed does nothing like this to people. Meth, crack, heroin, fent, all of these just take common sense to know how dangerous and harmful it is to take those. Weed and liquor are far less severe drugs that require a more nuanced approach, where it varies from person to person how to use and not abuse them. For some people it means don't touch the stuff, for others it means only in very small amounts, and then there are the people who are stoned 24/7 and nobody can tell, or the functional alcoholics who start their day with a drink and show no signs of intoxication. The old DARE and war on drugs ads were a failure because they just threw blanket warnings on drugs that are not on an equal level of risk and addictiveness, weed, shrooms, and LSD shouldn't be treated the same as meth, crack, and fent. Some would argue even coke isnt on the same level as those other drugs. Basically my point is, those ads sucked because they had no nuance, and then when a teen would try weed and see that it was nothing like the commercials, they would assume the whole thing was bs and not be as apprehensive about trying meth and the rest of the heavy drug arsenal.
