Judge Mathis

Judge Mathis

Күн бұрын

The plaintiff dated the defendant, and they have a daughter together. The plaintiff claims while they were together, the defendant once punched her car windows and kicked her vehicle, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant admits he and the plaintiff fought, but the plaintiff was the violent one. He alleges the plaintiff even tried to run him over.

How is the Judge going to tell the plaintiff to stop smiling because it’s not funny then proceed to make a joke to allow jurors to laugh?

I get your point, but I believe as you are presenting your case about abuse, nothing should be funny especially if you have no proof & expect the Judge to believe your words. @@kacielynk9749when you’ve been though abuse the smile stops around the abuser. And the amount of time she described there wouldn’t be smiling but be miserable. You’re either between being mad looking or looking upset even when you try to hide it. Violence have you scared, scared and anxious with panicky moments not nervous. But in today’s society a man expressing their feeling is abuse in many peoples eyes especially feminist and those wanting to win a court case. It’s sad because there are real cases of abuse taken lightly because of women like her.

Some people smile when they’re nervous, I don’t think she’s making light of the situation. I grew up in an abusive household and my wife looked at me and my siblings crazy when we would laugh and talk about it. She and other people didn’t understand that, that was our reality. We were desensitized to it cause we grew up watching and experiencing it. It felt like the norm to us at first. Before someone says it yes we and our mother called the police several times and nothing ever came of it.

I can't watch episodes where he feels he gets to degrade another woman. It's just absurd how little he understands the psychology of abuse victims yet assumes his limited and often irrational view is the one that should be chosen. Why would someone afraid acquiesce to the demands of someone violent? It's a textbook case of socialized subservience and lack of agency. It's why people remain with abusers, which again he doesn't comprehend because apparently he never took a psychology class ever in his storied life.
