I like that. If ever I go around making a game, I'll implement a feature where you don't have information on stuff at all. So when you try to see the description, you can write your own. So it can be a sort of dare, a game within the game. The effects would be funny, as much as possible. But there would also be a feature where you could just get information from the townspeople or libraries. The amount and quality of the information would be based on how high is their knowledge level. Or trade information with other players. A game where deceit is a viable option.

@@AgreeableCat No, we can confidently say that it's tied either to the quest or first time eating, as when Britt ate hers she was so excited she could barely START to eat it (showing that she had never eaten one before) and by your logic Adam would've already had "99 before" and therefore knew (or could safely assume) it wouldn't do anything. Even if we try to bring in the rationalization of Britt potentially knowing there was an Easter egg tied to the event (which she made no such knowledge known in any capacity, so extremely unlikely) and that Adam just didn't know about it, then it STILL wouldn't explain him eating 50 (yet alone 99) "no effect mushrooms" especially since he would've long since identified any such effect through said course of eating. And remember, this all takes place in a game meaning every interaction is logged somewhere and referenced back to either by the players/system (a GUI showing "known" plants after discovery, or achievement/quest tracking number of specific types) so it would be obtained impossible not to have learned/assumed anything about said mushroom.
