He lost his home to a fire, youtube viewers got him a new one! Part 3

This wouldn't be possible without the kindness of hundreds of youtube viewers!
I met Hans this year, one of the happiest people I've met, that's why I was shocked when I learned his house burned down two years ago and he had been living with no heat or water in a camper since. He is famous around his town for helping those in need and asking little and often nothing in return... this time Hans is the one who gets the help :)
Hans is still in complete shock and the reality is still settling in on this new reality, watch as we go house shopping with Hans after a 3 day go fund me set him up for success!

We have a saying around here for when we give somebody something. "It won't make you rich and it won't break me." That's what happened here. People contributed what they could, it didn't break them, and while it didn't make Hans rich it got him what he needed. I'm sure today he does feel rich though.

I guess it's because they know what it's like to not have much so they recognize when someone else has even less. I think they responded so well because they feel that if they needed something and Hans was there, he would help them, so they want to help him. Kind of a pay it forward sort of thing. This is the kind of thing that gives me faith more than going to church ever would. People pulling together to help someone they consider one of their own. Hans has a lot of friends.

I know a lot of *very* wealthy people who might donate a building to a college or very expensive art to a museum, but wouldn't do a thing to help an individual, even a friend in need. This whole thing has really touched my heart. And it has happened in less than a week! So grateful for the KZbin commenter who suggested that you start a gofundme account for Hans, Alex. So grateful that you followed that suggestion and did so immediately. Then seeing the dollars pour in to get Hans a warm place to live...unbelievable generosity! And in just a very few days Hans has a home. I think he is truly bowled over by it...so shocked and grateful that he is finding it difficult to take it all in. Now we just need to convince him that he doesn’t have to feel burdened to report back to his benefactors for the rest of his days! (But once in awhile it would be nice to hear his hearty laugh! 😉)

It's incredible how many blessings have continued to flow from The Potter's House. Every person that worked on that house has gotten benefits that added to their lives. Each received a different blessing. Alex, when you found The Potter's House it felt special but no one would have guessed all of the things that one day would bring. Finding Mary's house was like planting a seed and so many wonderful things have grown from that seed. I have the strongest feeling that we haven't seen the last of the blessings The Potter's House will bring.

Every one can and does. There is a lot more that happens in the world that's good and you will never see it on the news. Could you imagine which paper headline sells the most.. 20,000 ppl arrived safely at their destination @8AM VS: Massive pileup on interstate, fire prohibits rescue of trapped victims. You KNOW that 2nd headline would go off the shelves...ppl want to see good but they don't see it happening all around them. Be part of that good, as I'm sure you already are, but give yourself the recognition you deserve for what you do. Compliment another on some good thing they did...doesn't have to be huge...something simple like picking up trash left by others...if 60,000ppl picked up 1 water bottle each...that's huge...its got to be small pieces for the larger effect. Of course he will have to pay his yearly tax to the town but it's not like he was given a million dollars and this is a gift not earned money from a job so as long as he reports it as a gift he may not have to pay anything. That trailer he was looking at as an alternative was dark, dingy and depressing. I think when he has his own house with solid walls and good windows and a tight roof he will realize he doesn't always just have to "make do" for himself but can actually live somewhere that suits him so much better. Hans has such a sunny personality, it's time he has a sunny house to match. It is really perfect for him.

My heart is overflowing. I'm so glad that Hans will have a real house, with real heat and water, to live in. I can't imagine living in Canada in a small trailer. I also can't wait to see the work he will do this place! That’s great, probably be much safer for him too, if he’s been targeted at the other area, repeatedly, chances are if he moved a trailer onto that lot he may be attacked again. That would be awful, to have a new trailer and have it burned down or destroyed. I’m so happy for Hans, I sure hope everything works out for him, it’s going to cost to have hookups for gas, power etc, heat, furniture, legal fees, taxes so it’s good there is some extra to use for that. There are angels among us and Hans is one I think, he has only been caring to help others for a long time and now a lot of people are caring for him. The legal fees ect will be less being a cash buyer, he doesn't need a mortagage since the cost of the property is all paid for. So he's paying less then your average homeowner. That said, heat, taxes ect and yes, definetly furniture is going to be a big cost. If anyone reads this I would recommend facebook marketplace for cheap furniture just to get ya going. Insurnce will probably be less on a house then on a trailer (in my experience, but I live in the UK so IDK). Also, for the love of all that is holy I hope he invests in some burgular alarms.

@@eily_b it doesn't have to be like a Blog just he would be cute, to have out there, I mean I follow a guy that puts a video out probably once every eight months and it's mostly just him talking about all the wildflowers sees, when he's walking around Philadelphia, like literally he's like just a guy that, I'm pretty sure is a garbage man that whenever he seems like a cool Wildflower growing out of the dirt out of the sidewalk he talks it takes photos of the flower and talks about what type of flower it is, Hans doesn't have to be the Great next KZbin influencer, I would just like to see more of him even if it's just him talking about trees or how to jack up your house or just the day-to-day blog of him making soup he's adorable and he's the type of person that I would love to watch make soup

@@Algorithmicgeneratedwordsalad I agree. I live off-grid on solar and my internet is really slow. I only have a few videos uploaded to my channel and they are short, 3 minutes or less. A 3 minute video takes about an hour and a half to upload! It's not much, but my family and friends who are 1500 miles away and haven't seen me in almost 20 years appreciate them, and I can show off my cute baby goats playing.
