I was one of those kids that didn’t really like the movie (because it was nothing like the Filmation series and I didn’t understand about the bigger MotU lore at the time); as I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned to appreciate it a bit more. My wife absolutely loves the movie. Dolph certainly looked the role of He-Man…but it was always very hard for me to get past his heavy accent. Frank Langella and Meg Foster were stellar though! All that being said, I will almost certainly need to pick this figure up at some point. I had contemplated trying to get the Super7 figures when they were first released a few years back, but Masterverse will be significantly easier on my wallet! The main head does look kind of weird, but it’s not terrible. The vintage-style alternate head, though, looks ridiculous on this figure. I also understand what Mattel was aiming for…but it doesn’t fit with the movie design.

I feel the same way about the movie as a kid I still enjoyed it, but I was expecting more of the cartoon-based movie, but I liked it as a kid. I am planning on getting the movie figure. I heard from Mega Jay Retro that a company called Ramen Toys will make a more movie correct head.

Ramen toys is supposed to make head sculpts for both the Super 7 version and the Masterverse version. Can’t wait for that. Who knows how much? And when it will be out. Will be worth the wait.

Gotta be honest, that head scan... woof! It leaves everything to be desired. I think it would have benefitted from the 40th anniversary torso because it is one awesome torso. I notice you said the super7 doesn't have a knife boot/boot knife... mine does. It is a piddly little weapon, probably used for eating, however, it did come with a boot knife/knife boot. Love your work, keep it up!

I remember a preview video for this figure the heald sculpt is more akin to the concept drawing that Dolph. Overall it is a well made figure especially the detail on the padding. I would change with a 40th Anniversary head. Where is that awesome Vader shirt from?

Masters of the universe movie wasn't what I thought or wanted it to be. I did enjoy it enough to have bought it on DVD. Maybe Dolph Lundgren said no. Some actors feel weird for fans to own a action figure of them. Because we all know Mattel has the 💰 to pay Dolph for his likeness. Or maybe Mattel isn't confident in this selling well. So Mattel probably is like let's save some 💰 by not paying Dolph Lundgren for his likeness. The super 7 figure looks more it's based on a real life Man.

Why would anyone be put off by He-Man with a laser? The original 8 back lineup included Zodac with a laser, all the weapons packs included lasers, most of the vehicles included lasers... they've been there the whole time.

Side note: hell yes we need an 80s cinema line to get some of our favorite movie characters into plastic, like Dar from Beastmaster, the Barbarian Brothers from the Barbarians, Galen and Valerian from Draonslayer, basically the entire cast of Krull, Gaston, Navarre, and Isabeau from Ladyhawke (with transformation animals dammit!), the entire cast of Excaliber, basically the entire cast of Legend... now I know the thinking here would be that the licensing would be murder, but we do a "close enough" type thing like these MOTU movie figs and cut through the red tape.

I am so pumped for this figure!! MOTU was my favorite movie as a kid. I missed out on the Super7 figure. I do wish it had an accurate Dolph head, but I get it. They should have Dolph be He-man in the new movie and just de-age his face haha. I'm sure dude is still shredded haha. Definite pick up for me
