That's an epic MOTU collection Ed, great video! So awesome you got the playsets CIB, the boxes are even prettier than the playsets themselves imho. I'm from 1982 and my brother is from 1978, He-Man was pretty big in our household as we were growing up right in that era, but we never got those castles. The funny thing is, looking at your video i recognized more and more figurines by the minute, so it turns out we had quite a lot of those. We also had the Landshark and the Dragon Walker. I have no idea where most of the stuff went, we really "played" with it like boys do, so a lot of it ultimately hit the trash can i'm afraid. It's also pretty sad how back in the day all boxes and packaging were tossed away immediately. I never do that with toys i get for my kids nowadays. Thanks for sharing, this was a nice time-capsule for the monday morning! By the way, the MOTU episode of "The Toys That Made Us" on Netflix was pretty fun too. Certainly nothing in-depth for the collectors out there, but it gives a nice perspective on how He-Man came to be and how the toyline boomed itself on the market, cool stuff!

Hey Ed! Cool play sets! I was born in '79. I had MotU as a kid. I had snake mountain and my buddy had castle greyskull. I liked the slime pit. I saw the Dolph Lundgren movie in the theater. It was cool when I was a kid.....not so much now....lol.

Afgelopen weekend op Netflix 'The Power Of Grayskull' gekeken. Erg leuke documentaire. Ooit hoop ik ook een leuke He-Man collectie te hebben. Mét Eternia :p Die art op de dozen vind ik misschien nog het vetst! Keep those cool video's coming :)

Awesome video. I have a couple of my original action figures, but unfortunately like many people, a lot of my original figures were thrown away or sold at yard sales. I've really gotten into the new Masterverse line (since I missed out on Classics). I wish I had my original playsets also. Unfortunately, if I ever wanted to play with Snake Mountain, I had to go to my neighbors house and use his. If you're looking for a one stop book to see what figures were produced, Pixel Dan put out a book a while back showcasing EVERY MOTU figure from the vintage line all the way to Classics.

Nice collection. I did grow up with these (I was 7 when they were first store shelves) and my first figure ever was Skeletor. It was on from that day and I had collected most of everything going forward up to some of the last USA wave (wave 6). Sadly after I grew out of toys as a teenager my parents did something with all of it. I suspect they hundreds of feet under some trash somewhere. Anyway, fast forward to now (in my mid 40's) with somewhat disposable income and fond memories I decided to try to get it all back...in as mint of condition (loose...no way I can afford sealed cards!) as I can. Even then I have to say that they are extremely hard to find in excellent condition (or any condition at all) and when you do some are going to cost you way more than $100. Take Scareglow for example. You are not finding that in excellent complete condition for $100. If you do for $200 you would be lucky. Then there is Randor, Ninjor and some others. Vintage MOTU collecting can be pricey, but I know a lot of other vintage collectibles that are a whole lot worse when it comes to the pircetags :) If you are diehard into it, it is a fun hobby to try to complete the set...if you have some money that is!

This takes me back.. I was born and old enough for this when it was out (ouch, I'm old) had a couple of figures myself of course. I recognize most of it from friends who had them. Man-at-Arms was my favourite, although it is the most boring character of all compared with all those crazy, or at other times 'fabulous', characters like Stinkor and that hairy dude. That magazine I had as well and one of the mattel mini books. I have a different one than you have though.

Nowadays the speculation was reversed, so the seller (company) prices the product high (300CAD the newest Castle Grayskull from Mega Construx, when this could cost 49.99CAD), and then we the collectors hope for this to become a legitimate collector's item if it is the case (this is, if we are not true lovers of the toy), barely noticing that they (the seller) already over charged us with a non-named non-existent financial product named speculation. Thanks for showing your collection, I always wanted that Leech on my collection.
