about the lyrics. There are rumors somewhere on KZbin that this song is also about Sakurai's mother, but this is groundless misinformation. According to information from the interview, the lyrics to the song were written at the rehearsal without much thought in a hurry, impromptu, purely what fit the music. then Sakurai rewrote it several times, but he was told that the first version was the best and so they left it. This text of the song does not carry a particularly deep meaning.

And about the song itself. This is a typical Hoshino song. They say that about these songs of his themselves - hoshino-rashi (hoshino-style song) because. he always writes exactly 3 songs per album (this is a local meme too) and he has either a ballad (most often with sakurai lyrics it is a death-ballad) or something very danceable or fast / explosive / crazy. But that's why BT's music is also so diverse. One of the mega hits of that period is the ballad Hoshino Jupiter (and here it is about the mother). But this is a direct cult song for the local stage (I already wrote about it somewhere earlier). On the same level as their song Aku no Hana, apparently. And Iconoclasm. Hoshino is the guitarist who always stands on the right. Imai standing on the left =D

And on the topic of their hairstyles, you need to look at something from 86-88-89, for a complete understanding. They started out as more of a punk band, originally playing covers of the local punk band The Stalin (also a cult theme) back when the band had a different name and Sakurai was on drums that time. But in terms of appearance and music, it was all for the new romantics, and I would call it something like glam punk (here you can also remember Adam Ant). And they all had hair in the style of an explosion on the head and upright. Including they were constantly infuriated that on TV everyone was discussing only their hairstyles, and not their music. Oh so about Atsushis wife I don't really know but I think they were already divorced after this. Nobody knows why and I have no pics of her to know what she looks like but they had a son together. She did their makeup and stuff. But people say that Atsushi cheated and had a kid with another woman but idk. But I have no idea what really happend between them.

@@JabbyMayoCD whaaaat? can you elaborate? honestly, in the last half a year, I fell into work and had problems with money, and now we don’t have twitter at all (if you heard the news about Russia), I rarely go there in principle. Racist comments about you from BT fans because of these reviews? from Japanese fans or ours? (There are also many Brazilians in the BT fandom) I didn’t really understand what this has to do with cult (?) Maybe I have translation problems here. cult for culture/music. I meant that the band and some of its songs are so significant and unique that they have such a status / meaning (or in the sense of cultural heritage). For example, when you watch an interview in 2018, and the host of the program says, this song of yours is just a golden classic, I downloaded it again on iTunes, and so on. Or when younger bands invite BT to their programs, and say that they grew up on this and played songs in their youth in copy bands, and that they were not as simple as they would like. Or that they wanted to play in this direction. (similar statements in an interview with DIR) It's hard to say about the genre, because BT doesn't have one specific genre (followers of post-punk ideas and new romantics, if you only call it that). And there is no one else who would make similar music or visuals.

Ah, the word "cult" is a mostly negative word in English and it refers to an obsessive, unquestioning hive-mind for a certain belief or doctrine. There's another meaning like "cult movie/hit" that's means more like something that's popular for some groups of people, which I think is the meaning you were going for. I understand your comment better now, thanks for your explanation!
