As a personal friend, Eric is a man of character, resilience and determination. He has the heart of a Lion and protects people whom he loves and cares for. Thank you Ken for doing up this video! Do read Eric's book as well, its an easy read and gives alot of insights into a man that has overcome adversity and challenges in life ; and the many lessons we can derive from it - about character, rebuilding one's life through setbacks and finding a good mentor to learn from. It takes a real man to be able to open, talk about and shed lion tears while coming to terms with his own reality, weaknesses and find the solutions to get out stronger. His experience of life has shaped him and there are people around who appreciate this side of him and the lessons we can learn from as well. Keep charging forward Eric!

Lived with a thai girl for years she has actually been quite good and help me deal with a lot of problems I went through over here. It can be hard finding good support over on this side of the globe but there are good people just need to get out and find them. It can be tough living out here many expats I know have become alcoholics or constantly drink go out and party. I'm slowing down now that I hit my 50s. Its good though have made friends met people from all over the globe it really changes your perspective on life especially being from the West. I'm a writer part of a poetry group here in Hanoi. The video titled "He Opens a VIP Bar in Vietnam (GOES WRONG QUICKLY!!)" with the thumbnail "I Lost $200k in Vietnam" is a poor example of clickbait tactics. It’s better to be truly representative of the content you’re sharing rather than just playing to the algorithm and so-called "best practices." This was misleading, disingenuous, and ultimately a waste of time for those genuinely interested in the bar/entertainment/F&B industry in Vietnam. Syntactically and semantically, both statements (title and thumbnail) are true according to the information in the video. However, when paired together, they create an ambiguity that misleads viewers. Pragmatically, they imply a direct connection between the bar failure and the $200k loss, which is not the case. The $200k loss was due to an investment in a stem cell business (mentioned at 40:31), which he still co-owns-not the VIP bar. Your other videos are good and informative, from what I have seen so far, but now I will have to think twice going forward.

Early America did value family and community first. You had to depend on each other survive. This kind of community still exist in middle America and elsewhere. Unfortunately money, resources, and fame changes most. We created a community where we live on our own and don't need to talk to our neighbors. Saigon reminds me of the 80's everyone becoming something. Money has become the focus. Honor and respect is still seen mostly in Japan and other rural areas around the world. After speaking with officials they said maybe they could issue an emergency visa. They went to lunch, and kept us waiting for over two hours. Then they told my daughter it would cost $300. They would not give her a receipt and made sure there were NO cameras in the area. And my wife is Viet! As we were leaving a Swiss family of four was being told the same. I wanted the VFW to support me so the VFW would get credit instead of being known as a bunch of drunks chasing exploiting poor bar girls. Adding to this problem, was the local natives using this to promote themselves and the VFW used this against me. Asia has been so complex over the centuries. China was outright communist at one time and was helping both North Korea and Northern Vietnam take over their countries and install communism throughout. Today most people are happy that Vietnam fought back and stayed united as one country. Today, most of us wish there was no North Korea and that Korea was one united country. I love most of Asia, and it is hard to match some of their cultural & character aspects. We wonder what is going to happen as China claims more and more the sea as there's. China now claims oceans 1500-2000 miles away from them = all the way to 100 or so miles from Sarawak, Malaysia. The Chinese ram into and give notice to shipping boats from Vietnam, the Philippines, Japan, Malaysia, etc. The Chinese illegally dump primary consumer goods into Vietnam and Thailand and slowly decimate the local ability to produce and sell their own goods. I only bring all of this up to wonder how SE Asia and the rest of Asia can counterbalance the threat of Chinese takeover and dominance? This question must say "And without US help". None of us want the US to intervene and be a part of a war in Asia. I wish and hope there is a diplomatic way to stop China from continuing to take and infiltrate into the rest of Asia. Why do I want this? Because, like I said, I truly love Asia, including China. I find myself wanting to spend more and more time traveling to Asia. Here is hoping for the best.

Judgment with Out proof is call slander. Keep your intuitions and ad hominem attacks to yourself until you can provide concrete evidence that what you are saying about this gentleman is completely truth, without any prejudice and presuppositions.

That’s a pretty big assumption. How do you make such an accusation without providing any proof? Slandering people for no reason is pretty low.

To be honest, I had written about five paragraphs about this man. But I decided to take the highroad and delete it all. He talks mad shit and generalizes all Americans because of HIS own experiences. I have no problem with the VA and I did all the paperwork myself. I’ve never had a Vietnam Vet ever say anything bad. So why didn’t he use that leverage of his family against him and get his money back without going to court these things just don’t add up. Dudes full of shit.

As a veteran, you understand the brutality of war. However, was is necessary when other people (either foreign or domestic) want to take away your FREEDOM. Putin is doing the same thing in Ukraine, or when Kim Jung-Un decides to "unite" Korea, you DO NOT roll-over and not fight to defend your FREEDOM and livelihood. Got it my friend?

All I can hear are false accusations, prejudices, presumptions. If you are going to speak evil about another human, the least you can do is provide evidence that what you’re saying about him is true. We’ll be waiting slanderer.
