@silviampedrini3 ай бұрын
@@beatinbuzzers do you know what blows my mind? I could be totally wrong, but at this time it’s what I perceive: There’s an awkward silence in the hip-hop community and even in the media in general. I’m not sure if it’s Friday the 13th giving people the creeps, but somehow they all have forgotten that as of today, it’s been exactly 28 years since 2Pac’s death. Typically, we see many tributes in memory of an artist who is widely regarded as inspirational, both in his music and his impact on culture. An artist who used his platform to address social issues, including poverty, systemic racism, and inequality, especially in marginalized communities. 2Pac inspired many of the notable artists today, especially in the rap/hip-hop community. These artists typically pay tribute or remember Tupac’s life and his influence on 9/13 or week of 9/13. Yet today, there’s just a weird, disturbing echo of silence. Except for Eminem who has doubled the pressure in the statements he’s been making in the lyrics. lol… “the white boy” (how he’s pejoratively referred to in the culture). It’s hilarious how NAS knew exactly who killed PAC when he announced 2Pac dying at his show. Some odd stuff like Loon after implying Diddy in the murderer randomly converted to Islam, left music and the country. Too many odd random shit… it’s a pattern. I don’t remember what other rappers have voiced something or made any commentary at all… (Truly don’t remember/don’t know atm) even if just to say “they are certain Diddy does not have his hands dirty” Recently only 50 and Em. .. I think!? I don’t know, it’s just irritating. I get irritated at least. EVEN MORE when I still see people firing shots at Eminem and discrediting his talent and achievements solely as “white privilege”…. Knowing his love & dedication to rap and the culture, it’s irritating to see people saying he’s “just” a popstar. RIP 2Pac! ✝️💜 🎶 😢

Eminem gave us a fun album with all sorts of lyricism and putting on for the culture this year. It's always respect for it. Kendrick gave us a dissection of a boy representing the industry. Schoolboy Q showed up to remind us what the culture was. This year hip-hop has been confronting its demons and it's nice to see the reclamation. And I gotta say I love that Em is not letting Puffy go. He's making sure everyone knows who did it.
