The fact that he's actually trying to insinuate that the majority of homeless people are in the scenario they're in because it will make them more money and not because of mental illness, drug/alcohol abuse, having run away from a situation like domestic abuse, or because they're in a situation where they have to decide between rent and food is actually fucking insane. I know in some areas panhandlers do actually get quite a bit of money but how the hell do you get to the conclusion that a massive chunk of homeless folks make the conscious choice on this.

As a young person whos family was homeless, living out of our car and on cheap fast food for 2 years, it makes me very angry and upset that someone would pretend to be in such an awful situation to make money off of it. It makes me feel as if people take homelessness as a joke. I remember only being able to shower once a week and a half, sleeping on piles of blankets on the ground, begging for money from friends in order to be able to buy food for lunch at school. These people are sick and disrespectful. Thank you Savantics for not supporting their awful actions.

I would like to quickly point out in Arizona there is a city and county called Maricopa (confusing I know) most people I've ran into don't even know the city exists. The statistics came from Maricopa county as well as the area around Maricopa and even other county's. tony stank although I’d agree that that’s pretty harsh, you shouldn’t really give your money to homeless people because yes there are a lot of scammers that pretend to be homeless but also many have drug problems and it feeds their habit, so by giving them money your hurting them more than your helping them, a way to tell if a homeless person is genuine is to offer buy them food or a hot coffee instead if they decline then they are either an addict who you can’t really help anyway or they’re a conman who deserves a good beating for faking homelessness so I see the reason for these signs but yeah they are obviously anti homeless in general

"How much money can I make?" I was homeless for three years and I didn't make any money panhandling, I was also in an area where the homeless population was fairly low and there was no sympathy for beggars or shelters to stay in at night. I frequently had to dig up recyclables for cash, and even admittedly sell myself just so I could get something to eat, as well as had to sneak into a storage locker facility to sleep (until I was caught), and following that lived in a tent until I was able to scrape together enough to afford ramshackle basements to rent. This is a horrifying mockery of the experience I had to go through and this guy should be deeply ashamed of himself for profiting off the miserable reality of other people.

@@crazygingerr3608 It was a series of factors that lead into it. My mental health prevented me from holding a job, which lead to me being reliant on my partner at the time. They refused to work, basically, and kept leeching off the kindness of my family until they refused to help us anymore, then his father screwed us over (we were sharing at 2-bed apartment with him) by dipping out on the rent and leaving us to foot the bill. We struggled to keep up with that for a while until someone we thought was our friend stole the money from us we'd been saving up for bills. Shortly after not being able to meet those payments we got evicted, and with nowhere real to go we couch-hopped for a little bit, got a sort-of footing at one point when my uncle stepped in to help us, then my now-ex screwed away all our savings and hard work on weed and video games, rather than our rent. Following that I left him, and exhausting all other options I paired up with a friend in a similar situation (she was fleeing a physically abusive partner) and we lived together on the street until she up and disappeared one day with all out collective cash and left me stranded. This was a good three years of my life living through all that, and there was a lot of things I had to do to survive that I'm not proud of but have kept me alive long enough that, now, I'm in a stable situation with housing and food.

@@Chitamashii that’s sad kinda sounds what happened to my mom and my dad My parents got divorced in early 2018 (or late 2017) my dad kept the house her pics,EVERYTHING basically.My mom and my big sis moved to a tiny apartment with only one bedroom,we stayed there until early November of 2019 we had moved into a bigger house it was old it was REALLY cheap since my mom was friends with the owner,It was hard to get through all of this!And something helped her get through this... My cat!He helped her calm her down!But in 4th of July 2020 he ran away :( we got a new cat in Sep 4 she is a kitten she’s super cute!!! In conclusion,the people who you really trust and love can just make your life terrible!

I watched that infographics video and it was really nice to homeless people and addressed a lot of issues that homeless people face that no one even thinks about. Their video made me want to donate some food and money to homeless people. So I think their video was good and helped me realize what it was like being homeless. Also the rest of the challenges did it for only 24 hours while infographics did it for 72 hours which helped show the struggle more than just a few hours on the streets.

I volunteer at a LA homeless donation thing (The Giving Spirit) twice a year and I've seen the joy on their faces when someone gives them a little bit of supplies and I've heard their emotional stories of how they became homeless but.... they totally just doing it so they dont have to work omg 🙄

im legally blind, no side vision and the amount of people who take my cane from me or say 'how can you do xxxx blind' is astounding. yes i can type, yes i can walk on my own, yes i can live on my own! it is NOT easy ! i struggle daily to even eat, i cant afford a winter jacket, and someone who is normal-sighted profiting off of it just boils my blood when i try so hard to just be 'normal'

This makes me so sick, I live in West Virginia and I have met MULTIPLE homeless people, most who are VETERANS! They came back from being deployed to find that their home was GONE, they did not choose to lose their home, and they work hard to make any money. One would walk around the city I live in picking up cans to recycle. He's had the cart he'd use endure people trying to break it and wheels have been stolen from it. Being homeless is not a joke or a trend, people need to stop treating it like it is.

Where I live, majority of the homeless people are addicts that are just begging for drug money, except this one lady. She was in a wheelchair on the side of the road, I don’t know why, but I just felt the most sympathy for her. I ended up getting her some McDonald’s. I hope she’s doing okay at least

I live in Liverpool which has the most fake homeless people in the UK (they get taken back to their house by the police) So the fact that there are people showing how much money you can get by pretending to be homeless is disgusting

Where I live we get raised getting told to rather get homeless people food instead of giving them the money in case they pretend like this man or in case they are addicted to drugs and buy those instead.
