Watching the kicker/punter and long snapper hang out reminded me of what John Madden said years ago. He said that if you want to be an NFL player who stays in the league the longest, be one of the three! Kickers, punters and especially long snappers keep their jobs because they are so specialized and needed! They may not make top QB or RB money, but they will have an income long after many have come and gone! Good luck Brendan Hall!

@marcd1981 Colleges and players reached a recent agreement. Players will get a good % of the football game income. I ran rough math on a high end top 10 team, its as much as $20,000 per season. Less for the non-ranked/smaller fan base teams. That's not going to make the athlete rich. It will help buy a vehicle, cover food, clothing, furniture, etc while they're in college. Google < net worth of college head coach ______ >, you'll see the fraud with your own eyes. College football is absolutely Semi Pro

@alistairlobo5009Ай бұрын
Wow Hall of Fame - Jan Stenarud, one of that very select few kickers in history, like the great Ray Guy, who both fundamentally changed the way the game is played because of their, back then, unbelievable ability to consistently kick extraordinary distances and achieve never seen before hang times, which ultimately led to a new generation of kickers and transformed special teams strategies. This guy is absolutely next level and has the potential to be one of the very, very greatest, I can see him being an early round draft pick for the NFL, which has rarely ever happened for a kicker. Also the fact that he can punt over 70 yards in the air with regular over 5 second hang times and that he can kick 70 yard plus field goals, makes him a highly valuable asset to any team. Like he said in the video it is all about 'being consistent', if he masters 'being consistent under pressure' and that is a significant 'IF". If this happens, then I predict he will become the greatest kicker in history. I am looking forward to keeping an eye on his career.

70+ yards is crazy. No matter where his team starts on the field, short of an interception or a fumble, each set of downs that don't end with a first down will result in a field goal attempt.
@Washington-DreamingАй бұрын
It seems like being tall might help on field goals. You’d have a longer swing so maybe you could get your foot speed higher. On punts though it would be a double-edged sword. You might get more foot speed as well but hitting the ball consistently would be tricky since the ball would be farther from your body.

Big Montana Grizzlies fan here! He had some hype because of his size & leg power but didn’t live up to it, at least as a kicker anyways. Lost his starting kicking job after going 6-12 on field goals this season (1-4 from 30-39 yards & 1-4 from 40-49 yards) They needed him, especially after losing to NDSU because the kicker that took his job, got his PAT blocked at the line in OT that would have sent the game into double OT but instead ended their season 😂

Sorry but i did that 50 years ago, made many from 70 yards in practice, In games kickoffs went into the stands in fact many times I kicked it over the goal post and into the stands. When we played Ohio state, kicked it into the stand to avoid Archie Griifin touching the ball. Finished 2nd in the nation for kickoff coverage at the U of M for the 75 season. Led the team in scoring when Tony Dungy wasour quarterback. , tied then broke the record for most field goals 4 times. We only gave up 12.4 yards avg. Hang time over 5 seconds. got the place kcks and field goals off in 0.5 seconds. Even kicked a soccer ball as a senior in H.S. 90 yards, and the goalie picked it up on one bounce during a game. Three times I scored on the opening kickoff in a soccer game. These are not lies, and left the NFL when God said, "what do you profit if you gain the world and lose your soul. I thought, I can either be the best kicker in the NFL or the best Christian. It was a no brainer decision. I left the Vikings in 76. Had signed three one year contracts. So my friend when you are in your 70's you won't care what you did when you were in your 20's. And that was a vapor ago.

A lot of kickers can kick 75 yards. But can they do it consistently and accurately and do it with pads on with 300lb. men coming at them?
@susanrodriquez37573 ай бұрын
I’m pretty sure not a single kicker in NFL history has kicked a 75 yard field goal with huge men coming at them. So the answer is probably no one including this kid from Montana State. A 60 yard field goal is already difficult enough to make much less 75. It’s actually amazing how pressure can massively reduce the power of a kicker if they want to be accurate. The current record in an NFL game is 66 yards set by Justin Tucker.
