It's lovely to see such true friendship but also horribly sad to see somebody settle. For some relationship like this instead of trying for actual romantic love.

I really love the twist - Cecily's character thinking she knows it all ("literally me in highscool") and then the implication that Ann's character KNOWS and doesn't have any negative feelings about it at all, just love and support

Cecily is just so good....I am beginning to realise how good she is as a comedian and actress seeing her in Schmigadoon and that SNL really was starting to hold back her career.

SNL is a catch 22. It starts comedian's careers, and also ends it. Unless they get roles outside SNL, their career dies slowly.

As with "Somewhere That's Green," this song as performed comes alive with feeling, deepening the audience's commitment to a story that is often played for broader laughs. But it's moments like this one where the emotional connections are made. And the way she delays that vibrato on the last line. Her voice is absolute crystal. Brava!

that’s a really good comparison; they’re both such comic characters and the gags could come off as really mean if it weren’t for the earnestness of their solo numbers, which also happen to show off their actors’ lovely, instantly recognizable singing voices’ unique features.

@Zachary Doyle "Gold Star Gay/Lesbian" means you are a gay person that has never had sex or sexual contact with a member of the opposite sex. Not only does it completely ignore the idea of sexual fluidity, but it also sets itself "morally" above bi people and people that were closeted before coming out.
